The History of the Gods
In the beginning, Atvandius the Artifex created all of the Iron Domains. Being neither benevolent or malevolent Atvandius’ initial creations were perfectly neutral, but without the need to balance the world never changed. To bring about change Atvandius created two sons, Giaus the Sun and Sarren the Night and set them upon the Domains. The colossal brothers represented that which Atvandius did not. Giaus the embodiment of Law, Justice, and the Sun and Sarren stood as Choas, Deceit, and the Night. Both titans were given wives in which further carried out a contrast between the two. Gaius’ wife, Evariene the Stars, and Sarren’s wife, Mativa the Shade, both shared similar ideals to their husbands.
Change rapidly occurred as the Domains sided with either of the two titans, and soon erupted into war. Sarren ravaged the lands to infuriate Giaus and both brothers tore through the world to get at each other. It wasn’t until the final battle between the titans that with the Romulus Blade, a powerful sword forged by Giaus, Sarren was killed. Atvandius was furious at the two brothers for destroying the balance he created that he cast them into different planes. Giaus into the Celestial Plane and Sarren into the Abyss, and both wives were sent with their husbands.
After the war the gods were forbidden from returning to the material plane or face punishment from Atvandius.
