The Great War is the war that arose of how the Remnant would use the elemental powers of the Aygeemya. The side choosing to push the limits of power, seeing it as the gift of the gods, upset the more conservative morality of those wishing to maintain tighter limits on its use, fearing the repercussions of irresponsible usage. The Zoarchs, a sect devoted to Zoe/Tehsh (the life cycle Aygeema), were among the most adamant within the first group, going as far as to create new species by twisting life force energies. Making use of public outrage after several Zoarch creations killed villagers in several incidents, the more conservative branches demanded regulation of powers. Infighting escalated into a massive conflict, resulting in the destruction of almost two thirds of the Remnant population from the effects of the elemental energies unleashed, in addition to creating the Great Sundering that destroyed portions of the land and forced the Remnant to leave the lands that are now The Fade, the Plaguelands, The Kinsthet Desert, and the Bayous. The more conservative branch won, largely due to the infusion of much power into the God King and is the beginning of the current Remnant government today. The defeated were charged with crimes against the gods, the planet, and life in The Great Trials. All known records of their practices at the time were taken back through an Eye of the Life Cycle into the plane of Tehsh itself by the head Zoarch Bidos who now manifests as an avatar of the death of innocents.
The Great War and the Great Sundering are considered among the Great Cataclysms of the Remnant race and Alatha.
