The first Gryffinfest was held in Threshold starting May 5th, 1017 and lasted for four weeks. During this time a divinely inspired mead called godsale was crafted by Gryffin Farstryder and provided throughout the entire event.
The first day of the festival was an observance of hardship and loss while the following 27 days consisted of feasting, dancing, singing, and of course, drinking. A brewing contest and archery contest were held where the first place prizes were a unique artisinal mug and a theme-carved masterwork longbow. Though Gryffin Farstryder’s godsale won, as sponsor of the event he awarded the mug to his brewing assistant – master brewer Loric and with Thalin abstaining from the archery contest, one of his protege ranger-knights Karl won.
