Calyeron
The Monarchy of Calyeron lies north of Coralton, along the northern edge of The Gash. Calyeron is a rugged, mountainous country, and has many dwarf settlements. Calyeron has had a long-standing rivalry with Coralton over trade routes, and several trade wars were fought between the two nations after the fall of the Kelsenon Empire, fueled in part by the ambition of Calyeron’s monarchy. Many citizens of Cliffport darkly remember the Coralton occupation, which lead to The Cliffport Massacre.
The Sons of Yorick, a terrorist group that strikes at civilian targets, claims to represent patriotic nationalists who wish to end the “Coralton oppression of our homeland.” However, the Sons have been officially disowned by the monarchy, which denies their actions have any government sanction.
Calyeron often supplants its armed forces and even some of its local watch with mercenaries from The Hexblades, which leads to the impression that the law can be purchased in Calyeron. While this isn’t strictly true, the Hexblades tend to be “flexible” when dispensing justice.
