Auntie Helga Short, fat and almost blind, this crazed old woman does not give the impression of a powerful witch. Nevertheless, appearances can be deceiving, as you have learned from personal experience. The old hag appears to wield magic that is the stuff of legends, although she seems genuinely insane. She uses a walking stick to find her way through her surroundings and has a morbidly obese pet cat she refers to as “Mr. Whiskey Whiskers”. The party met the old witch in Andelia, while trying to get her cat down from a tree.

Decimus A veteran of Legion XIII. Siege weapon expert. Joined the cause against the Demerian Imperials after the party rescued Markus Naevius from execution.
Decius Sertorius A fifty year old soldier in Legion XIII, Decius seems much older than his age, due to a decade spent in the dungeons of Holgrath. Decius was imprisoned because he denied following his orders during the Storm of Slaughter. He has recently managed to escape, moving to Andelia to organize the local resistance movement. Malcom knew the man before the Storm and has provided him with a shelter and information during the prologue.
Domitius “Langbard” Lepidus (R.I.P) Domitius is a tall figure, standing at six feet four, at least. He has tanned skin and a large, black beard which reaches down to his chest. Although it is difficult to say, he seems in his late thirties to early forties. He appears to be alone in his house, which is in a messy state. Domitius “Langbard” Lepidus was Malcom’s contact with the Andelian guardsmen. He is member of a group of ten guardsmen who, together with Malcom, oppose the loyalists. When Malcom almost died while infiltrating Lower Andelia, Jules sought to contact the man.
Erik Gautrek A half-native, the product of a night of passion between a Demerian soldier and a native girl. He has a great interest in Svodun culture and an even greater hatred of the Imperial expansionists, although he has come to accept that sharing the lands with the colonizers is the only viable solution. Erik seems to have inherited the natives’ build and fiercely independent mentality: Standing over six feet tall, with long blonde hair and a thick beard, he is a fearsome opponent when wielding a greataxe. Erik is Maclom’s contact with the natives during the prologue.
Eyolf A native of Svorinn. Caithas seems to think he looks exactly like Erik Gautrek. Caithas observed as the native almost got lynched by a group of guardsmen and a tattooed loyalist. Only Harald’s intervention saved the Svodun.

Malcom knocked Gordianus down the wall of Lower Andelia while the party was infiltrating the city. After Malcom’s near-fatal injury, the rest of the party decided to save the dying guardsman, in hopes of using him later for their purposes.
Hakon A young boy, Hakon is a reluctant recruit serving in Andelia’s guard. Malcom saved Hakon from being beaten up by an angry mob during the chaos that ensued after the execution. He has presumably returned to his duties as a guard.
Harald An old man, Harald is a Demerian scholar and translator. His interest in history and politics, as well as the colonies in Svorinn, has led him to Andelia. He is a member of an organization known as the Keepers and seems to have been a lecturer of sorts until recently. Some of his students affectionately call him “Herr Professor”. Caithas watched Harald defend a native called Eyolf from a group of guards and later bought the two men a drink at a local pub. Harald seems to like the half-elf. He has given the ranger his address, inviting him to drop by any time.
Head council Varenius A high-ranking official within the Imperial bureaucracy, Varenious is a short, middle-aged man with blue eyes, pale skin and a receding hairline that emphasizes his wrinkled forehead. Herenius A veteran of Legion XIII. Scout, specializes in infiltration and reconnaissance. Joined the cause against the Demerian Imperials after the party rescued Markus Naevius from execution.
Mara of the line of Osari Mara is in her late teens; she has raven-black hair, dark eyes and a tanned skin. Clearly she is neither a native of Demeria nor a Svodun. Although poor clothes and years of manual labor understate her attractiveness, Jules has sampled several specimens and can tell that the girl might be an unpolished diamond. Jules, disguised as brother Percy, received Mara’s help when he was “attacked” by Caithas, who was disguised as an Andelian guardsman. The girl proceeded to lead Jules to her house and “husband”, Timon.
Markus Naevius Markus is a controversial figure: once a hero of no little renown, he ha was convicted of conspiring against the crown two years ago. Maxentius An Andelian guardsman by trade, Maxentius is Aurelius Fortius’ right-hand man and the leader of approximately twenty Andelian guardsmen. There are accusations of corruption regarding himself and his men. Langbard explained to Jules that Gordianus was one of Maxentius’ men at The Finest Tankard. He did not hesitate to openly accuse him of corruption to the party.
Michael A soldier serving in Andelia’s guard. He has only recently joined the guard. Malcom’s colleague.
Mister Whiskey Whiskers A large, orange cat belonging to the powerful, albeit insane witch who calls herself Auntie Helga. The cat is morbidly obese, yet somehow manages to move unnaturaly fast for his weight. He is male and missing his tail, presumably due to a botched attempt to “fix” him. The party “saved” the cat from being stuck on a tree, although it is unclear if the cat actually wanted to be saved in the first place.

Ovidius Atius Ovidius Atius is an old man, a veteran and ex-sergeant in Legion XIII. You know from personal experience that, despite his advanced age, Ovidius’ skill with the longbow is unmatched. Ovidius joined the cause because he could no longer stand the government’s utter disregard for the army veterans, most of whom were forgotten and impoverished after retiring, despite the services they provided to the Empire. Ovidius is Malcom’s contact with the veterans of Legion XIII during the prologue.

Silanus Petronius The high priest of the cathedral of Gorthorm Thord in Andelia. He is also a member of the powerful House Petronius, a Demerian noble line famous for producing priests, politicians and orators. Silanus seems to combine all three roles in his line of work. The party heard of the man from Langbard. Ariel also knows of the high priest, having attended a few of his sermons, although she has never spoken to him.
The Aspect of Peace A beautiful woman wearing a dress decorated with floral patterns. She carries flowers and a basket filled with fruit. The first time, he was throwing rocks against the guard patrols and he was arrested and thrown in jail by Malcom. The second time, Malcom himself was arrested and sent to the barracks dungeons, where he shared a cell with the boy. He died along with Malcom during the failed escape attempt.
Raynald An officer potentially working for the Black Chamber. He has short, brown hair, a clean-shaven chin, sharp cheekbones and a small scar over his left eyebrow. He seems to be a heavy smoker. Veor Valdyr A deserter from the banished brothers. An intelligent and pragmatic man in his early thirties, he is the cool-headed counterpart to Erik. A failed scholar, he joined the military at the age of eighteen, only to become quickly disillusioned by the events during the Storm. He fled to the forest of eternal pines, along with the rest of the deserters, setting up a self-contained community in the heart of the forest. Veor is one of the rare few individuals who can blend swordplay with a basic understanding of the arcane arts, and his intelligence qualifies him for assuming a role of leadership, although he is very reluctant to lead. Veor is Malcom’s contact with the Banished Brothers.
Verenike A veteran of Legion XIII. Her father was member of the legion and was on friendly terms with some senators. Joined the cause against the Demerian Imperials after the party rescued Markus Naevius from execution.

Zaracas held Jules in his basement for one night. Eventually, the party confronted the thug and his superior, the Black Chamber officer Raynald, and managed to capture the former. Zaracas was subsequently executed by Caithas.
