Matriarch Miriam Mackenzie
- The current headmistress of the Academy, she is an elderly but exceptionally powerful mage. She specializes in the Arcana of Space and Time, and is said to see the future and the past as clearly as she sees the present.

Jonathan Bobblestop
- The instructor of the characters, he is a middle-aged man who seems to be in incredible shape. He is friendly and outgoing, but prefers to teach by throwing his students into situations and letting them figure it out for themselves. Specializes in the Life and Prime Arcana, and has a considerable command of Forces.

Anastasia Kensington
- A young mage with a fiery personality, she is in charge of the defense of the Academy. The recent attacks by the Dark Lord’s minions have hardened her against the notion of true safety, but have honed her into a powerful weapon. Specializes in the Forces and Fate Arcana.

Bertrand Bellyback
- The curator of the library at the Academy and an introverted and quiet individual. He has an encyclopedic memory and is generally the only way to find what one is looking for in the library, save going shelf-to-shelf. He is known to be a master of the Matter and Death arcana, and is rumored to be able to turn objects into solid gold with only a touch.
