Combat, Parlaying, and Pursuit
The module contains many combats. Excepting the centipede swarm, all are balanced from normal to extremely hard. It is not intended that the players finish these fights. Indeed, even if they fought magnificently, conserved resources perfectly, and were able to win them all, they would no doubt have nowhere near enough time to complete the module in the allotted real time. Rather, the players should remain focused on their objectives, fighting only as long as is necessary to accomplish their goals in each area and move on.
No enemy in the module has any interest in negotiation, trading, cooperating, or surrendering. They are only interested in fighting to the death.
Except where otherwise noted, enemies will not pursue the players beyond the rooms in which they are found, whether the players move past them or retreat from them. Instead, they will lick their wounds and lie in wait in case the players return.
