Note the following regarding the rituals of the pregen characters:

Hand of Fate (PHB pg 306)

Whenever Hand of Fate is cast, Rose appears in lieu of the ghostly hand. If a question is posed that would be answered more directly by one of Rose’s clues, she provides it. Otherwise, she responds to the question as would the more typical Hand of Fate.

Fastidiousness (Dragon Magazine 366, pg 29)

This ritual renders characters immune to the special “treat as bloodied” effect of swimming through the bloodied pool into The Abattoir and the clay pots of blood thrown by the Ogre Butcher.

Purify Water (AP pg 158)

This ritual will destroy the residuum in the water in The Chasm.

Lower Water (AP pg 157)

This ritual will trivialize searching any shallow pool it is used on, though it may take just as long or longer than the searching would have.
