The Wheel of Time: The Trolloc Wars

The rider….the Dragon’s prophet, for lack of a better word….rides off, followed by his eight hard-eyed protectors. Many people in the crowd watch them go, but just as many slowly turn and begin making their way toward the camp outside the town’s walls.

Elia: Do you think he’s really the Dragon Reborn? I mean…if this isn’t Tarmon Gaidon, what is it? And if it is, then don’t we need the Dragon?
Elia looks concerned
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: I have my doubts, honestly. I don’t like that he’s killed my sisters, though.
Elia nods sadly
Elia: Yes, I suppose you wouldn’t like that. But…isn’t that one of the prophecies? That Aes Sedai would kneel before him?
Conall Anon: yes but chouldn’t that have been said about the man who attacked the tower?
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: I understood and hoped that to mean willingly. Breaking legs to get them to bend isn’t my reading of that.
Conall Anon: there were those who ‘kneeled’ to him
Elia: I suppose…
Elia looks doubtful

The crowd thins, but only so far, as people leave to visit this False Dragon’s camp. The rest of the people in the town square resume their daily chores. Even at that, this news is on everyone’s lips, and the people here look concerned.

Sandulf, you head out about your task of meeting with this forger.

Sochaia, you, Elia, and Kael resume your trip to the Jeweler. It takes only a couple of minutes walk before you find it and enter the shop. The jeweler, Reava Deramon, is a pleasant woman, and quite a talented jeweler. Of course, her customers are usually simpler folk with less coin to spend, and as a result, most of her stock are lesser pieces meant to appeal to commoners. However, when you enter her shop wearing obviously fine clothing and being attended by a maid and an Ogier to boot, she instantly recoginzes your station and, after curtsying to you, immediately removes a small, hidden drawer from her stand which contains her attempts at creating the finest jewelry she can. The selection isn’t large, but it will do. Everything you and Ni’tareus spoke about to outfit yourselves can be found here. Rings, bracelets, necklaces, and even a jeweled belt of woven silver. It’s not quite the gold belt Ni’tareus recommended, but it will do. You purchase them all, then have yours and Elia’s fingers and hands sized. Reava tells you that it will only take a day or so to set the sizes of the rings and bracelets to fit your fingers and wrists. You promise to send Ni’tareus over to be sized as well, as you bought a couple of rings for him too. Suitably male, of course.

After you finish with the jeweler, you head to the tailor shop. By now, word has spread all over the town about the earlier man’s announcement. You hear people discussing it at pin shops, or while walking down the streets together. Everywhere, men and women are talking about this supposed Dragon Reborn, and if it could be true.

You enter the tailor’s shop to find Celia Morgenthal and her apprentices hard at work, creating patterns, cutting fabric, or sewing. The woman herself stops her work to visit you, obviously aware of your station as soon as you entered. Like Reava, she gives you a curtsy, then you get down to business. Unfortunately, it appears that Celia will be unable to make you any new dresses or coats for Ni’tareus. It turns own that the army outside has placed a large order for uniforms for their army, and she and her apprentices are planning to work night and day just to fill it as quickly as they can. So she has no time for custom orders, or even fitting some of her existing dresses to your body.

As she apologizes profusely for having to refuse your custom, you hear the bell over the door ring, and you see three people enter. Two men and one woman. They step inside, with the men removing their hats as they do so. All three step up to you. The men bow low to you, while the woman curtsies, spreading her skirts wide in a deep gesture of respect for you.

One of the men speaks. He’s a large, muscular fellow wearing the apron of a blacksmith. “My Lady Quintaros? I am Harvin Lovaros, blacksmith and town elder. This is Mistress Shynwhin, and Master Telgares, both town elders as well. May we trouble you for a moment of your time?”

Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros nods to the group.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: Of course.

Harvin Lovaros bows to the Lady Quintaros again
Harvin Lovaros: Thank you, my lady. We have a problem. You see…ordinarily Lord Estera would be here to handle such tasks, but he has been summoned to Tear by King Suleiamon. Now all that is left is his sister, Lady Magdalia and her son. Unfortunately…we believe both are now under the influence of this…ahem….Dragon.
Harvin Lovaros: The Town of Maredi needs your assistance, if you can find it in your heart?
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: I see.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: I will of course be willing to hear you out. Is there a time and place we could meet?
Mistress Shynwhin: You should start from the beginning, Harvin. So she understands and appreciates our situation.
Harvin Lovaros nods to Mistress Shynwhin, then to Sochaia
Harvin Lovaros: I uh…we can speak wherever it pleases you, my lady. Here will suffice…or a place of your choosing?
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: I should be able to gather my servants and retainers by dinner. Would you care to join us at The River and The Rose?

Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros I realize sometimes manservant sounds like warder. Unclog your ears.
Sochaia (Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros): ooc^

Master Telgares: That would be well, my lady. We will see you then. Thank you, my lady.
Master Telgares bows to Sochaia

The other two bow as well, then turn and leave the shop, offering thanks as they leave.

Sandulf

You are riding up to the House Estera manor house, which is at the top of the highest hill surrounding Maredi, on your way to meet with this Istvan Modorien, reformed house clerk and ex-forger. Mose Velarta told you about this man the night before and said that he could handle the tasks you need filled.

As you trot your horse up the winding road leading up to House Estera, four men rush by you riding hard. Mud from recent rains splashes off their horses hooves and all over you. One of the men looks back and smirks at you. The others completely ignore you.

You arrive at the gates of House Estera and find some of the same hard faced, zealous-eyed men from the army camp yesterday are standing guard here, intermingled with uniformed men wearing the swooping hawk sigil of House Estera on their chests. The two sets of guards are obviously not working together, as they keep to their own sides, and the guardsmen wearing the swooping hawk of House Estera wear sour expressions as these “common soldiers” speak to the four men that splashed you with mud only a few minutes ago.

“…your “Lord Dragon” will want to see me." One of the men says, practically growling in anger at being refused entrance.

The soldier he is speaking too isn’t wearing a uniform, but he is obviously one of the hard-faced men from the army. He has the same zealous look in his eyes, and those eyes darken. “He is YOUR Lord Dragon as well. But as I said, he is taking no visitors today. The Lord of the Morning needs his rest, and to get settled in. It has been a hard march. His Grace will see you tomorrow, if you will return.”

These four men, the ones that splashed mud on you when they passed you on the road, wear ordinary brown wool coats, suitable for a prosperous merchant, or well-to-do farmer. None are dressed like a lord, but the one speaking with the guard acts as if he deserves the title. He turns, frustration painted on his face, then curses. His friends wear blank expressions, neither angry, nor friendly, and none offers any advice. Finally the one in charge turns back to the guardsman. “Fine. I will return in the morning. See that this is delivered to…the Lord Dragon in the meantime. If I cannot speak to him in person, then the least he can do is read this note. Tell him I will return tomorrow. My name is Frestin, and I expect to be granted an audience.”

With that, the man roughly hands the guard a sealed note, then turns and gestures to his friends and they each mount up again. The man that smirked at you earlier sees you…and smirks again. “What’s wrong with your eyes, friend?” He asks.

Conall Anon ignores the man
Smirking man: Not one for words then? Well enough.
Smirking man smirks at Sandulf as he remounts his horse.

The four men remount their horses, then turn and rush off just as hard as they did when they rushed past you earlier. You watch them leave, then turn to find the same guardsman giving you a look. “As I told them, the Lord Dragon isn’t taking any visitors. Return tomorrow, and perhaps he will grant you an audience.”

Before you can respond, one of the uniformed men steps forward, examining your cloak. “I believe, guardsman, that this man works for a noble. See the sigil on the cloak?” He says, gesturing to the running wolf holding a raven in its teeth.

The zealot guard looks unimpressed. “Doesn’t matter. No one gets in to see the Lord Dragon today. No one.”

The guardsman shakes his head. “No, I suppose not, but perhaps he isn’t here to meet the Lord Dragon. Whenever a noble house passes through Maredi, or any civilized town, it is customary that they meet with the local lord and make their presence known. If so, this man is only doing his duty. Right?” He says that last part by turning to look at you.

Conall Anon nods

The zealot gives you a dark, untrusting look, but turns away just the same.

Conall Anon turns to the house gaurd
Conall Anon: I am her on behalf of Lord Quintaros.
House Estera Guard: I don’t know this lord. Lord Estera, the lord of House Estera, is away on business at the moment. If you are here just to pass on your lord’s greetings, consider it done. I will pass them on to his steward.
Conall Anon: Well I also needed to speak with his clerk if possible.
House Estera Guard: Oh? Is there a particular reason?
Conall Anon: My lords clerk was killed by trollocs.
House Estera Guard: I see. And your lord needs the services of our clerk then?
Conall Anon: Yes iit would be useful if we could borrow his expertise on authenticating some documents.
House Estera Guard eyes the zealot guard and his friends.
House Estera Guard: Well…as you already know, THEY aren’t letting anyone in. But I can summon master Modorien for you, if you wish to speak to him here.
Conall Anon: well these documents need to be authenticated but they are of a private nature.
Conall Anon looks to the zealots also
House Estera Guard: As I said, they won’t let you in. Would you prefer I ask Master Modorien to meet you elsewhere?

Sochaia (Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros): brb

Conall Anon: is there somewhere I could meet him privately instead of out here in the mud and dirt?
House Estera Guard shrugs
House Estera Guard: If he will come…he’s a very busy man. But if he will leave the estates, I assume you can meet him wherever you choose. I assume you and your lord are staying at the Rose? Surely not the Broadstroke…
Conall Anon: yes the rose, if you could ask him to meet us there and we will see what we can do from there.
House Estera Guard: I will pass your message along. What name shall I tell him to ask for when and if he comes?
Conall Anon: either Lord Quintaros or Conall Anon
House Estera Guard nods
House Estera Guard: I will see your message delivered. The Light be with you, friend. These are dark times indeed.
House Estera Guard eyes the zealots again as he resumes his post near some of his fellow Estera guardsmen.
Conall Anon turns and leaves

You turn and walk back to your horse. The head zealot watches you go, but doesn’t say anymore too you. You remount, then head back into town.

You spend the rest of your day on your appointed tasks, or resupplying whatever you used during your trip from Tar Valon to Maredi. About dinner time, you each make it back to the River and the Rose and are greeted by the fat innkeeper, Master Robair. He sees everyone into the private dining room as you each return.

The rest of the afternoon passes, and you meet up again in the private dining room of the River and the Rose. You sit down as your meal is brought into the room. Roasted goose, mashed potatoes, steamed carrots and peas, some pickled eggs, and slices of apple pie for dessert. As you begin eating, you each talk about your successes today.

The servants leave after placing the food. As Ni’tareus begins eating, he speaks.

Ni’tareus: So, Terith and I were successful. We now have a carriage. It cost us some pretty coin, but the deal is done. Turns out, this wainwright…master Forstel…had already built one for Lord Estera’s great-niece as a nameday gift. He was hesitant to part with it, but greasing his palms did the trick.
Terith eyes Ni’tareus
Terith: And it is safe to assume everyone already knows the bigger news. A man claiming to be the Dragon Reborn is here in Maredi.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: Yes. I don’t like what he’s done, but we may have other matters to deal with.
Conall Anon: he is at the lord’s estate.
Ni’tareus: If you ask me, he’s no concern of ours. Let the Pattern deal with him.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: A group will be meeting us shortly to ask our help in a matter. I have no idea what.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros nods at Ni’tareus.
Terith eyes Sochaia and Ni’tareus again.
Terith: A male channeler is always something to fear.

DragonSypher (Kael-Tevenar-): has anyone else noticed how talkitive Terith is now? He use to communicate with snorts, grunts, and shrugs. lol

Ni’tareus: I didn’t say I wasn’t worried about him, just that he wasn’t our concern. We have something more important to worry about, Master Terith.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: I am concerned, Terith. I suspect the group coming soon will have more pressing matters.
Ni’tareus: The White Tower will deal with that one.
Ni’tareus: Who is this group?

About that time, a timid knock comes at the door.

Sochaia (Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros): as if in answer….

Terith turns to the door.
Ni’tareus gets up and cracks the door open.
Ni’tareus nods as soft words are spoken, then opens the door.
Three people enter, two male, one female. Each one is dressed like a prosperous merchant and the big one is dressed like a blacksmith.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros stands to greet her guests.
Each individual bows or curtsies to your party as they enter.
Harvin Lovaros: Pardon us for interrupting your evening meal, my lord…my lady. The Lady Quintaros suggested we meet with you at dinner?
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: Please, make yourselves comfortable.
Terith leans against a wall, then realizes that’s not very…scholarly….and straightens up.
Harvin Lovaros bows to Sochaia, then takes a seat. The others follow his lead.
Harvin Lovaros: Thank you for your courtesy, my lady.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros sits.
Harvin Lovaros: As I mentioned earlier, Maredi needs your help. We have no one to turn to at this point. The steward operating House Estera in Lord Estera’s place is…well, we believe she is taken by this…Dragon’s charms, so to speak.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: I understand. What is your story?
Mistress Shynwhin: Yes, my lady. We fear he may drain our town dry before he leaves…what with his requests for food and uniforms…and now with this public decree that he is the Dragon Reborn….well, people are flocking to join him.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: I beg your pardon. Is he not paying for his purchases?
Master Telgares: Indeed. And if we allow this to continue…it is safe to say that Maredi will have nothing left. No food, no supplies of any kind…and no people, save those of us that aren’t fool enough to follow this madman.
Harvin Lovaros: No, my lady. That’s not the problem. He has offered good coin. The problem is….well, it was a harsh winter. Harder than any in recent memories. Our food stores are already low, you see? Taking what we have left will leave us in ruin until the next harvest comes in. And it’s only early spring…we haven’t planted anything yet!
Ni’tareus takes a seat next to Sochaia, listening intently
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: Let me see if I am understanding you right. Are you asking me to ask him to move along?
Mistress Shynwhin: Yes, my lady! Exactly. We don’t expect a noble house to…um…kill him. Just ask him and his men to move along. Perhaps visit a larger city, like Aren Mador, Tear, or maybe even Jennshain…since that’s where all the fighting is. A larger town could absorb his demands and fulfill them. We cannot.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros raises her eyebrows slightly at the mention of killing the False Dragon.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: I doubt he’d pay me any mind.
Master Telgares: And truth be told, my lady…we are simple folk. Not charismatic or powerful, like yourself. We are terrified of him if I may be so bold. He is…he can channel, my lady.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros nods.
Ni’tareus: Perhaps not. But if he isn’t insane yet, perhaps he can be reasoned with? My heart goes out to these people, dearest.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: If the merchants stopped supplying what he wants, he’d go away.
Terith: Or he would take it…
Harvin Lovaros nods sadly at Terith’s words

DragonSypher (Kael-Tevenar-): lets leave him be and then we can encounter him AND his army again later when they are much stronger and we’ll get better xp. lol

Harvin Lovaros: We fear if we don’t give him what he wants, he’ll simply take it. He has the numbers. Lord Estera left us only a skeleton guard, my lady. We are at this Lord Dragon’s mercy.

Lanndon: Hehe, that probably won’t work Jesse. By that point he’ll be more than even your big frame can handle.

Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: We cannot fight him. Perhaps I can talk to the man. He is a man. He can be…persuaded.
Ni’tareus eyes Sochaia
Ni’tareus: What does that mean, if I may ask. Uh…dearest.

DragonSypher (Kael-Tevenar-): well, then we’ll just appeal to the GM for help. lol He would NEVER let any of us die.
Lanndon: HA!
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: diplomace +15.
DragonSypher (Kael-Tevenar-): oh, wait….wrong GM.
Lanndon: lol, yeah
DragonSypher (Kael-Tevenar-): Nyneve has diplomace. She browbeats people into compliance.
Lanndon: True that

Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros pats Ni’tareus’ knee.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: I can talk to the man and convince him there is a whole world to see.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros winks.
Ni’tareus speaks hesitantly, staring at Sochaia

DragonSypher (Kael-Tevenar-): Mat is the one with diplomance. He winks and smiles at women to get his way

Ni’tareus: If you think…that is best….
Harvin Lovaros: Oh thank you my lady!
Harvin Lovaros eyes brighten
Mistress Shynwhin: Yes, thank you my lady…my lord. You are truly our salvation.
Master Telgares rises and bows to the Lord and Lady Quintaros
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: Master Tevenar, Master Shanos, I’m sure you’ll make an impression on the man as well.
Master Telgares: Maredi is very appreciative. We’ll do the best we can to see that you are rewarded with what little we have.
Terith stares blankly at Sochaia, then nods…obviously faking understanding.
Terith: I suppose we might be of some help here.
Kael-Tevenar- nods.
Harvin Lovaros: My Lord Quintaros, Gan Forstel tells us that you just purchased a carriage from him for…enough money to buy three farms, if I am to understand it? We understand your desire to get back on your way, but really, that is far too much money. If you do this for us, we’ll see to it that Gan sells the carriage to you at cost.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros eyes Ni’tareus sharply.
Ni’tareus: The man should keep his mouth shut when dealing with noble affairs.
Ni’tareus gives Sochaia a sheepish grin
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros whispers, “Bit free with the gold, wouldn’t you say?”
Ni’tareus: We needed the carriage. I..well, in any case, yes, see too it that he reduces his fee so that my wife here isn’t too angry with me. Light…
Another timid knock comes at the door.
Harvin Lovaros looks at the door.
Harvin Lovaros: Well, I see you have other visitors. We should be going. Thank you so much for your help, my lord, my lady. We’ll be out of your hair then.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros flares her nostrils slightly.
The three rise and bow or curtsy, then head for the door. As they reach it, Terith opens the door and finds a small, skinny man wearing the tabard of House Estera on his chest. His eyes rise as he sees the elders leaving the room, and each one in turn eyes him as they leave. Mistress Shynwhin turns her nose up at the man as she exits.
Terith: And who are you, little man?
Istvan Modorien eyes the elders as they pass out into the hallway.
Istvan Modorien: I’m Istvan Modorien…your lord summoned me?
Terith grunts, then gestures the man in.
Elia whispers
Conall Anon: Yes this is Lord Estera’s clerk
Elia: Am I ever going to get to eat?
Ni’tareus: Ah, the clerk! Come in.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: Alright, Ni’tareus. Did you want to see the jewelry you had us buy? Or would you rather discuss how we’re going to convince this “dragon” to leave?
Conall Anon: Maybe my’lord would like to met with him in private.
Istvan Modorien enters the private dining room
Istvan Modorien bows to the Lord and Lady Quintaros
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros whispers. Geez.
Ni’tareus looks Istvan up and down.

Sochaia (Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros): lanndon cooked, but his burritos set your teeth on fire. and your ass.

Ni’tareus: Yes, step outside with me master Modorien. I’d like to speak with you outside, if it pleases you.

DragonSypher (Kael-Tevenar-): i didnt need to know that

The small man bows and follows Ni’tareus back out into the hallway. You can all sit down and eat now.

Sochaia (Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros): lol. sure you did.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros begins to eat.
Elia: Finally.
Elia begins eating
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros winks at Elia.
Elia smiles at Sochaia around a mouthful of roasted goose and carrots.
A few minutes later Ni’tareus enters the room. Istvan is nowhere to be found.
Ni’tareus sits down to eat
Conall Anon closes the door behind him
Ni’tareus: Well that takes care of that. The forger is going to create our documents. And I don’t want to hear a thing about how much it costs “WIFE”.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: We do have a finite amount of gold, Sugar Pants.
Ni’tareus winks at Sochaia
Ni’tareus: Right. And several letters of credit to get us by. We’ll be fine.
Ni’tareus begins eating
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: True enough. It’s not our money. I just hate to see price gouging.
Terith sits back down to eat
Kael-Tevenar- sits down to eat.
Ni’tareus: None of this was going to be cheap even if it were legit.
Conall Anon looks at Ni’tareus
Conall Anon: how much did you pay?
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: I know. I’m sure you did your best. Dear.
Ni’tareus: I gave the man 40 gold crowns. He was practically dancing with anticipation to get started.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros smirks.
Elia spits out her food.
Conall Anon: laughs
Elia: You were robbed, idiot.
Conall Anon: I guess he hasn’t lost his touch
Conall Anon laughs
Ni’tareus: What’s that supposed to mean?
Conall Anon: well as Elia helped me to know, a good forger can be found for about 1/8th of what you paid
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: It sounds like it means you were beaten by a master.
Terith eyes Elia
Ni’tareus eyes Elia
Conall Anon: he was dancing because he fleeced you.
Ni’tareus shrugs
Ni’tareus: Well, you know, if she would work with me, instead of against me, we’d never have to worry about being fleeced. The man balked when I offered him ten gold. Said he was legit now. So I upped the ante. And he agreed. Same results.
Elia: And if you weren’t such a wool headed looby I might like you enough to help you.
Terith: I like her.
Conall Anon: well if you would treat her with respect and courtesy maybe you would get along better.
Ni’tareus looks around the room.
Ni’tareus: Alright. It seems I’ve somehow been hard on this girl. So, Elia, I apologize for not treating you with more respect. Are we okay now?
Elia: No.
Ni’tareus shakes his head and resumes eating.
Conall Anon smirks and sits back
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros laughs and winks at Elia.
Terith: None of this is getting us where we need to be. What is the plan? Are we helping these townsfolk or moving on?
Conall Anon: this man has his men stationed at the lord’s manor
Ni’tareus shrugs while he eats.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: Etan, I think you were bested again. Perhaps when I speak to this dragon I should do the talking.
Ni’tareus: I’m the idiot here. You guys figure it out.
Conall Anon: he is refusing to let anyone enter today
Ni’tareus snorts at Sochaia’s comment.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: My thoughts exactly, Ni’tareus.
Ni’tareus: Fine, you take care of it dearest.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: Terith, do you have any suggestions?
Terith shakes his head
Terith: I’d rather just leave these people to their own fate.
Conall Anon: ni’tareus you are not an idiot, you are just forgetting to properly work with what you have
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros frowns.
Ni’tareus: I apologized to her. What more do you want?
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: No, I don’t think so.
Conall Anon: apoloqy is one thing … meaning it is another

Sochaia (Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros): to terith

Conall Anon: and without your help our plan will not be as good as it could be if we worked together.
Ni’tareus: Good point. I didn’t mean it. But then again, I haven’t treated her with any less respect than I have any of you. You are all my friends. Perhaps I was a little too hard on her when she first arrived, but I didn’t know her.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: Do others of you agree? Should we move along and leave this town to be drained?
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: Are we risking too much to challenge this dragon?
Ni’tareus: Challenge? Are we really going to challenge him? I heard you say you would speak with him. If it comes to that…if he’s dangerous…I say leave him be and summon some more of your sisters to let them deal with it.
Conall Anon: who says challenge, maybe we can leave him with tidbits of knowledge of more able towns, where recruiting and suppling would be easier.
Elia: I don’t think we should leave the people here be. They need our help.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: He will probably perceive a suggestion for him to leave as a challenge.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: Conall, exactly. I was thinking I could make leaving seem like a great idea; like it was HIS idea in the first place.
Ni’tareus: Well, if you’re…as diplomatic as you say you are, you can find other ways to word it so that he will feel the need to move on.
Ni’tareus: Exactly.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: Okay. In other words, only Terith feels we should leave the town as is.
Conall Anon: if you wish to move a predator from your land you don’t have to kill it , just show it where a better hunting ground is.
Terith nods thoughtfully at Sandulf’s words
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: I wanted to make sure most of us wanted to talk to the dragon before I risked it.
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: I shall go tomorrow, unannounced, I think. Who will come with me?
Kael-Tevenar-: If you leave stranglevine, even the smallest shoot, you will return to find it has destroyed your garden.
Terith nods thoughtfully again.
Ni’tareus: Truer words have never been spoken.
Kael-Tevenar-: What will the Tower find when they come to him in a month or two?
Ni’tareus: So I guess we’ll go deal with him in the morning?
Elia: My concern exactly, Master Ogier.
Elia: A man that can channel…who knows when he’ll succumb and go insane? If he’s not already, what will he be like a month from now. Or even a year?
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: I don’t mean to kill him. I fear his zealots and he combine to make a powerful force. I do not care to reveal our true identities.
Ni’tareus: Nor do I. We’ll just have to be careful. Let Sochaia do the talking. If we do that, we can’t go wrong.
Kael-Tevenar- shrugs. “Go or stay. It makes no difference to me.”
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros smiles at Ni’tareus. “Indeed.”
Elia: Maybe I could go up there tonight and…see if I can find something out about his…um, state of mind?
Conall Anon: how would you do that?
Elia shrugs
Elia: I have my uses, you know. I’m more than just a…
Elia looks at Ni’tareus
Elia: pretty face…
Ni’tareus shakes his head.
Ni’tareus continues to shovel food into his mouth.

Sochaia (Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros): and fart, too, i’m sure.

Conall Anon: would you like assistance?

Sochaia (Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros): bow chicka wow wow…
Elia: If you want to come, you’ve shown yourself capable in these sorts of situations.
Conall Anon nods
Conall Anon: some
Sochaia – Saviendha Quintaros: It would be nice to get a feel for the degree of insane we may be dealing with.
Ni’tareus: Okay. But don’t get caught. That would look very bad if our “maid” and the head of the house guard were both caught sneaking around the very manor we’re trying to gain entrance to tomorrow.
Terith grumps
