Magic
This refers to magic as practiced by mortals. Other creatures have their own internal system of magic.
Faerie
The powers of Faerie are often called faerie-craft. Some even call it “magic”.
Each mage is restricted in the types of magic they can learn. One mage might be especially adept at fire magic, while another masters ice magic. There are a few, however, like the First Mage, who have mastered many types of magic. The Raven King was masterfully adept at blade magic, but quickly moved on to learn other types of magic.
Daeos
Miracles spring forth from the God’s chosen few. If the chosen breaks his tenets, then the Gift is stripped away until the person earns him or herself back into his good graces.
The magic of this religion is the only one known to revive the dead.
Host
The magic worked by followers of the Host is a seed that grows within the soul. It is a spark that can ignite into a conflagration of power. Only the highest ranked members of the Host possess this Secret Fire, originating from the Unconquered Sun.
The aspects of the Secret Fire are glory, courage, passion, ingenuity (with craftsmanship), and other traits highly prized in the Host.
As a gift, the Secret Fire can not be taken away, and so the Host usually kills those who disappoint them.
Followers of the Hollow Queen have been practicing Necromancy, the animation of dead bodies, for centuries before the arrival of the Raven King. However, Faerie magic has proven adept at copying their magic.
Fusion
In a remote part of the world, a group of Spirits have fused with the souls of mortals, gifting the mortals with their power. They become a sort of elemental, representing the very nature of the Spirit that they have fused with. The mortal’s power depends on the class of Spirit they have fused with. Currently, there are only two Emperor-class Spirits fused in the mortal realm.
