Throne of Thorns

Another Request

Beppo looks up from his latest play at the sound of a knock on his door.

“Come in if you’re not my fiancée.”

Faisal appears confused by the gnome’s response as he enters the chamber, glancing into the hallway as if to ensure he has not been followed. Closing the door quietly, the dark warrior turns and bows deeply.

“A thousand pardons for interrupting your studies at this late hour, Friend Beppo. I have another commission to discuss with you.”

At the gnome’s nod, Faisal produces a small bundle of cloth which he lays carefully on the diplomat’s desk. Unwrapping the soft cotton, the warrior reveals two beautifully carved silver lockets, one attached to a long fine necklace chain, and the other to a shorter, heavier set of links.

“I am not certain if such a thing is possible, but I had hoped you would be able to enchant these trinkets to allow communication. To allow the owner of one locket to send a message to the other, no matter the distance separating them. Members of the Dawnbrethren can manage such communications with The Eternal Light’s blessings, but I wish to have such magic available to someone without those gifts. Even if the magic were available only once per day, I think they would serve their purpose admirably.

“I once again express my appreciation for your skills and efforts on my behalf. Please let me know what materials you may require and I shall ensure they are available in the most timely manner.”

I’m not sure what the cost/prerequisites of such an item would be. I’m envisioning a sending spell, use activated, once per day, with the target limited to the owner of the other locket. Let me know the cost.

It would cost 20160 base (1/2 with Beppo crafting) for a sending item that takes up no slot, 10080 for one that does (ie amulet slot) although there should be some kind of discount for it only applying to one target. Carl would need to rule on what kind of discount that would provide (id say 20%)

you could look at the discount that applies to the rings of shielding
