Antarey stands outside the city walls, held out by Safaya’s light. Antarey is the demon of the wilds, the hungry wolf that steals children from the caravan. Alongside Audra, Antarey brings down thunderstorms upon travellers. It is Antarey who washes the path away, and whose roots destroy roads. Antarey returns ruins to the wilds.
Antarey is depicted an elk-headed centaur, holding a staff of twisted roots. It is with this staff that Antarey brings the wilds marching down upon the civilized lands.
Antarey figures most prominently as one of the two primary gods of the fallen kingdom of Malath. For a thousand years Antarey was worshiped as the All-father of Malath, with Audra as his wife. Three centuries ago Malath was felled by a tragedy known as Antarey’s Doom, when the inhabitants of Eladarel were turned to trees overnight.
