Wraiths

A wraith is a man who in live was powerful enough to be grated a blessing/curse in return for great power in life they sacrifice themselves to eternal service in the unlife that follows. They have in essence wither by magic or by choice slipped into a deep evil they have sold their souls for power. They are a physical creature not rotting flesh but at the same time not wholly alive. Some were mages in life and retain magical abilities others are powerful warriors. Even though some powers differ from wraith to wraith they have a few common traits and evil aura, the ability to see living souls and they are absolutely frightening.

They often have a weakness associated with how they were created. If that can be discovered a wraith’s power can be greatly diminished. It is said that some wraiths are affected by “holy” or magical weapons. Since the ‘supposed’ gods have left who knows if that is true or not. It is rumored that weapons coated with pure silver can cause greater damage to a wraith. I have not tested that theory myself. If you do and it works please let me know.
