Solaris is upgrading peoples equipment in thanks for helping with his company. Dogar has said that you may spend money before prudence on supplies for the upgrades before we leave. i have ~500 free silver left of crafting plus another 1000 silver can be contributed to get the upgrades at a discount (depends on how much people use, if only another 500 is done it will be free 1500 and it will be 2/3 cost). I am allowed to craft racial if we have member in the party. buying the base weapon or armor may help as well.
Yeah, the paying half price made it really strange. I also feel like we are unlikely to have downtime as long as is necessary to actually craft. Like it takes on average 6 months+ for me to craft a single magic item and that will not improve much throughout the game. But we can try it out and see what happens. Also tonight is 0 lvl prologue not with our actual characters right?
At the moment, I am not house ruling anything. Reputation should work just like in the book and crafting will work like in the book. I might fiddle with it later after seeing how it works outside of the book but I will work with you. Sorry for the confusion
So the party cannot pool reputation for anything and you can spend reputation for magic items outside of the party but not through pcs? I may be a little confused then. So instead of optionally paying resources for faster crafting I will be paying half the cost, and this will include magic items which cost reputation, and If i craft for other members of the party I will basically be paying half the reputation cost for their item, and if its a regular item I will basically be getting the max effect of haggle skill by spending time crafting and paying half price.
I know the crafting rules are wonky and I am just trying to understand them as written and houseruled
So reputation is freely tradeable in the party as well? I can provide weapons and armor to people in the party for reputation? Or we can pool reputation for a boat?
Reputation will be used as written, crafting will be done on a case by case basis as downtimes, I encourage holdings and downtime activities, NPC creation stuff is ok just be forewarned if it is really powerful then it will set the level of the challenges the group faces, and Panache/Prudence will be used in the game too.
I have sketched out a rough draft sane mad scientist. It sounds like downtime activities, crafting and skills will be fun. Ill probably have to adjust so I don’t conflict with stuff other people want to do. I currently have 13 of the 20 skills so their is room to adjust. I am expecting to get a compound at some point to do interesting animal breeding, magic and mundane crafting, as well as trade and research.
I am curious if you are using the reputation system as written. I am also curious if you are interested in having crafting an downtime activities as well as if we will have opportunities for these. Are you using the panache prudence lifestyle system and how exactly does that work. Do you want us to use the NPC creation stuff for companions? I can make a bad ass companion within those rules.
It is going to start on an island city and I plan on the ‘prologue’/first session to be primarily sea based. The rest of the game will be a sandbox meaning where the party decides to go would be what the game is about. I will be encouraging getting holdings and possessions (like ships and the like) to add a different feeling to the adventuresome world. I have a very rough draft of the world map The island city is almost in the center of the world.

Oh, no reputation can’t be traded like currency. Sorry I thought you meant turning in reputation for items or materials.

Absolutely, reputation can be used to buy favors and other materials/items.
I guess the question is can a PC trade reputation in the party with another NPC for crafted goods or favors?

Are you doing standard 100s starting cash?
Sounds cool, though I would probably like to play something other than a human in the long run.

HA! I am watching you!
P.S. Is this going to a naval campaign?
