Prague the city of one hundred spires has stood for a thousand years. Built on an ancient prophecy the city’s Czech name means threshold. Indeed the city seems a gateway both into the past and… other strange worlds.

The vampiric Kindred of the city know this to be true. Although they easily outnumber the Others they cannot claim to rule the night. Every night Kindred and Kine go missing, driven mad or found dead. The city is a harsh master, a living thing with secrets and hungers, many are lost across the threshold of its maw.

The city is cut in two by the River Vltava, symbolising the duality of Prague. Baroque architecture battles with sleek modernism, the noblility of its history conflicts with the excess of its nightlife, it’s fairytale appearance hides the horrific secrets buried beneath.

These are the stories of two coteries of Kindred. In the centre of Prague, on the edge of the Karlov Most (Charles Bridge) the New Blood engage in the politics and shadowy conflict of the Danse Macabre, buying into the covenant’s lies and half-truths, in exchange for power and luxury.

To the south in the slums of Jinocany, the Unbound rule over urban wasteland, nightly struggling to remain free of the Danse Macabre whilst engaging in a battle of survival with the Other’s of Prague

CHRONICLE: New Blood The Embrace has been banned for 5 decades, freezing the numbers of the Kindred population but now the Prince is approaching torpor and has allowed his Primogen the right to Embrace, resulting in new neonates with powerful political connections. Slowly, the reins of power fall from the Prince’s grasp.

Who will pick them up? Who will eventually hold them? Will these ‘New Blood’ neonates tip the balance of power?

And, at what cost?

CHRONICLE: The Beast Within Prince Levente Keleman is in torpor. His successor Edvard Otakar is now Prince but the civil war has decimated the Kindred population, where once there were approximately 120 Kindred vying for blood in a small area there are now less than 80 in a much larger area.

Freed from the shackles of Keleman's strange impositions, excess and debauchery are rife. The Nosferatu have waned and in the vaccum the Daeva have made the night their own. But all Kindred must struggle against the Beast, lest they lose what they are.

The New Blood and the Unbound have made their mark in the Danse Macabre but Keleman ruled for over 600 years. Even in torpor, the plots and conspiracies he set in place are still shaping and orchestrating events.

Can ‘the Beast Within’ be resisted? Can the threads of destiny that Levente Keleman has woven into the very fabric of the Danse Macabre be escaped?
