Description
Recently, the territories of Pennsylvania fell prey to the powerful spirit, known as Toth-Culthos, the Uncounted One. An uneasy alliance between the packs of Forsaken and the Pure waged a pitched battle against this demon and won. The victory was a phyrrhic one. Only a single pack survived the struggle. The territories' spirit wilds were decimated, it's Gauntlet left undefended. Into this dire situation, a misfit band of Uratha arrives accepting an invitation to defend a small patch of land in Tioga county. Can this band of werewolves become a pack? Do they have the will to walk the path of the Forsaken?

Werewolf: The Forsaken

Week 2:The Offer

July 26, 2008 13:13

Val saw the sign and turned her truck off the dark road. Younger kids would note it as somebody’s wierd tag, if they noticed it at all. Older folks would shake their head, seeing spraypaint on a public sign as a dark omen of the times and a waste of their tax dollars. Werewolves, even those like Val who had limited understanding of the First Tongue, recognized the marker for ungin. It spoke of a neutral meeting ground for the People.

Week 1: Throwdown at the Big Pig

July 15, 2008 18:24

Ken shifted in the seat of his Jeep. Even with the top down, driving all day was beginning to take its toll. Up ahead, he could not fail to notice the giant neon pig shoving a burger the size of his pop-up camper into its mouth, advertising Fat Daddy’s Diner. A rumble of his stomach betrayed his hunger. “Fine then,” Ken said to himself. He could use the break to check his Pennsylvania map for this Brier Mountain where he was headed.

Prelude 6: Anthony

May 20, 2008 21:25

(PapiG) wasn’t ready with his character yet. Not wanting to hold everyone up, he said I should get started with the chronicle.

Maybe Anthony’s past is shrouded in mystery, maybe it’ll be revealed when we start up again.

Prelude 5: Valentina Sorrento

Valentina’s hands gripped tighter on the steering wheel as her nephew searched through the radio stations. She had been listening to Cash’s “Don’t Take Your Guns to Town,” a rarity even on satellite radio and far different the rap he had settled on. Really, how hard was it to think up lyrics, ‘party like a rock star?’

Honestly, didn’t he know tense the situation already was? Patty had called her up out of the blue, asking to pick up her son at the airport. There was some misunderstanding with her license being suspended and she couldn’t find anyone else to get him for their mandatory visitation. It was the first time they’d spoken since the child abuse hearing. On top of that, she had to worry about how many territories she was passing through to get from the airport to her sister’s house. Her gaze glanced at the beaded bracelet on her wrist. It was meant to be a sign for peaceful passage that the packs of Miami had developed, but nothing among werewolves was garunteed. Aaron had bitched about how much trouble she was causing her pack. Valentina once again considered the invitation she had received in the mail.

Prelude 3: Troy McAllister

It was a special day running an excercise, that was suppose to simulate accomplishing a mission behind enemy lines, and then getting back accross the border. Troy was in charge of this operation. All was going smooth, they had accomplished their objective, and were on the way back, when they fell under ‘fire’. His friend Rick was ‘hit’ and ‘killed’. Luiz Gonzalez, the strongest of them, was ‘hit’ on the leg, as indicated by the blinking light pad on his thigh. Troy was torn between accomplishing the mission, which they were on a record pace to do, and getting Rick out of the woods. The Rangers motto is ‘never leave a man behind’, but Troy knew if he had to carry out Rick, they would never make it to the base in the time allotted. Rick must have read this in his face, because knowing he couldn’t speak, he winked. “Let’s go”, Troy said “we have to finish our mission.”

“You see the way that McNabb boy scrambled on Sunday? Damn, he’s gonna take them to the big show, ain’t he Cain?” Elisha Cain didn’t care much about the Eagles chances to make it to the Super Bowl. He didn’t care much about Shavers using his name. In fact, there were only two things that he did care about right now.

Prelude 1: Ken Waters

May 11, 2008 19:14

Just a little background (yes, I know, more backround? bear with me, we’ll be starting the story in just a twinkle), I wanted to do preludes for all the characters. The purpose was twofold. First, get everyone acquainted with the new World of Darkness rules. Second, get everyone acquainted with their characters. I really didn’t feel like running a short story with one player while the rest of them sat bored (or watched TV, or stack dice, or add side comments, etc, etc). Also, in my continuing effort to make things a little different at the game table, I decided to get all the players involved by having them play the supporting cast in the prelude.

And away we go…

“What did you want to tell me Shawn?” Robert questioned, wondering what his best friend was doing, dragging him out to the middle of nowhere. Hikers had gone missing a few days ago and he was feeling nervous about being there. They were so far from the nearest cell tower that there were no bars on his phone. On top of that, the recent rains had made the ground all muddy, ruining his brand new Timberlands. And if there were any nature stains on his brand new Levis, he’d forget all about Greco-Roman and go WWF on Shawn.

“I, um, I had something, uh, important to tell you,” his friend stammered. Shawn ran his fingers through his dirty blonde hair. He used to blame God, feeling cursed with feelings like this, and in West Virginia of all places. He came to grips with himself and with the emotions that he started to feel wrestling with Robert, watching him shower after gym. He had enough, though, he realized that he couldn’t go on without being honest to his friend. Shawn was nervous, unsure of how his friend of years would respond. It wasn’t helping, the green tinted light deepening the green of Robert’s irises, the shadows cutting across his strong jawline. And that looming darkness behind him, “What?” Shawn pointed.

The dark shape slammed Robert to the ground in a single, meaty blow. His friend, Shawn, didn’t even get a chance to call out before a second blow crushed him to the wet earth.

The Cast

April 29, 2008 20:07

When I was starting the Chronicle, I asked my players to create characters. In previous incarnations of the World of Darkness, we too often jumped into saying, “I’m a Malkavian,” or “I’m a Son of Ether.” I wanted them to think of a character first, then look and see how becoming a werewolf would affect that character. I gave the players a number of Character Creation questions.

Silly me, I thought that the players would hand me back something like a filled in questionnaire. But, like the veteran GM that I am, I recovered quickly. I figured as long as they had the answers in their heads, it was good enough. After all, what I was aiming for was full fledged characters and if the players did that, then all was right in the universe.

I’ll get my players to do most of the work here. They’ll post their characters and I’ll just link to them, maybe add a bit of setting info on the wiki.

AJ is playing Ken Waters an Ithaeur Bone Shadow with the deed name of Seeker of Truth.

Mike is playing Troy McCalister an Irraka Hunter in Darkness with the deed name of Shadow Runner.

John is playing Elisha Cain a Rahu Hunter in Darkness with the deed name of White Tip.

Becca is playing Valentina Sorrento a Rahu Storm Lord with no deed name.

Chris is playing Jake Stiltner an Elodoth Blood Talon with the deed name of Red Shield.

Giorgo is playing Anthony an Ithaeur Iron Master with no deed name.

The group was just short of a blessed pack (one in which all phases of the Moon were represented) with no one playing a Cahalith. However, all of the Tribes of the Moon were present by the characters.

My peeps

April 28, 2008 20:38

Since I’ve introduced myself, I feel that it’s only natural to give a bit of info on my peeps. We’ve been playing together for some time now and we’ve gotten to know each other well (maybe a bit too well in some areas). A quick person might be able to look at my friend’s list and jump around to find out about my roleplaying troupe. So I’ll try to say something new (or at least phrase it differently). Without further delay, the Tuesday Night Club consists of (in descending order):
