The Council of Six operates as the central government of Mistledale with an appointed seventh member who serves as the High councilor.

High Councilor: Haresk Malorn

The current high coucilor is Haresk malorn (LG human male), a quiet merchant known for his wisdom and compassion than his martial skill. As the appointed high councilor he does an excellent job of keeping the mistrans calm, in the face of danger. He bears a black rod as a sign of office and commands the Riders of Mistledale.

Riders of Mistledale:

Once Mistledale's most powerful military force, who turned back the Zhent's seven-thousand-strong army during the Time of Troubles has had much less success against the current infestation of Drow. Because of the hit-and-run tactic being used by the Drow, Mistledale's Riders are dwindelling in number while the threat of the Drow are on a steady incline. However, the Riders have not given up the fight. They are currently working with Clerics and Priests from the Temple of Tyr to bolster Mistledale's defenses and provide maximum security. Though the Riders were once at odds with the Hidden mist Village because of their intrusion in military affairs, they've come to except the fact that they need all the support and strength they can muster.

Mizukage (Water Shadow): Orai Cindell

Orai has been the acting mizukage for 4 years now. Under his leadership, the ninja of the hidden mist have begun a secret training program with the assistance of his jonin apprentice, Baishin Sato called "The Citadel of The Mists".  An organization seperate from Kirigakure's ANBU that involves hand-selecting highly skilled ninja within the village to send off to  an undisclosed location forming an elite team of supersoldiers. This was one of the measures taken to strengthen the overall defense of Kirigakure without drawing attention to themselves during these times of war & peril. Only those who are members of the Citadel know of its whereabouts.

Village Location:

The hidden village lies east of The White Hart inn just beyond the great meadows of Mistledale on a massive hill overlooking the Ashaba River.

Mistledale History:

Thousands of years ago, the heavens ensured Mistledale's future prosperity when a falling star plowed a hundred-mile-long, thirty-mile-wide swath through the elven woods. The trees never regrew in the scar where the star had fallen, but the land proved amazingly fertile once Dalesfolk put it to the plow. Mistledale has always been the lucky dale-blessed with fertile land, protected from foes such as the Zhentil Keep and Sembia by intervening dales or the Elven Court. In addition, they've occupied excellent trade routes between larger areas like Cormyr and the Moonsea.

Mistledale is a widely spread dale where its small settlements can see each other across the gently rolling hills, except in the mornings and evenings when mist from the river of Ashaba rises to fill the valley. For communication across the dale, ech hamlet is equipped with special bells designed to penetrate the fog. Each bell carries different messages of alarm or inquiry. These sounds are understood by long-term residents of the dale but a mystery to outsiders.

Enemies

Konohagakure

Because the Hidden Mist is considered to be the 2nd most powerful country (2nd only to Konoha), the've earned their share of enemies, most noteably Konoha's fire country. Mistledale and its water shinobi were the first to stand firmly against the will of Iven. The takeover of Konoha (fire country) brought about disagreements between the remaining countries and ultimately led to the broken peace treaties they'd made. This left the hidden mist village with one ally, Kumogakure. The lightning country was the only country to aid in the war against Iven and his troops (The fated Moon had not been formed yet). Together the two countries launched an attack on Konoha.

Their assault produced the death of manny jonin lvl ninja, leaving Mistledale and its Hidden Mist Village vulnerable. Kumogakure's Raikage also suffered great injury losing his right arm, after channeling all of his power into his right fist to launch a final attack on Iven. The attack was partially blocked by Iven, but wounded him just enough to bring about a retreat. The war ended seemingly with neither side gaining the upperhand.

Afterward, Konoha and its shinobi remained loyal to Iven, driven by the common link shared through a man named Varin, who'd been the acting leader of their country in the absence of "The Ascended One". Since that time, Konoha has re-fortified their ranks under the direction of Varin and increased their numbers.

The Drow

The drow have been growing in number over the past year & have become bold in their efforts of taking over the Dales. Their latest raids have been planned around stealth and sudden retreat, wearing on the Riders of Mistledale's numbers. This evergrowing threat has become top priority for Haresk Malorn as he and the Riders under his command, want to determine where the drow raiders are coming from and just how many of them there are, and then strike back. So far, efforts to locate the drow and drive them away from Mistledale have failed.
