Three years ago, before the current reign of Iven's order, Randal Morn and his faithful group of companions overthrew the Zhent occupiers in his homeland and reclaimed his ancestor's seat. Barely able to hold his war-torn community together, he soon found himself fighting another war against his own Dalesmen. Randal had been overthrown by the Zhents and ran out of his own town for nearly thirty years prior to his return to the throne. When Varin took over as the leader of the remaining shinobi of fire country after the death of the assassin guild's "ascended one", he also took on a powerful political role for the people of fire country.
Suddenly the threat of another force usurping power once again, became a reality. Because of Varin's heroic campaign against the Assassin's Guild, many instilled their trust in him as a leader to make many of the important decisions. However, when he revealed his alliance with Iven Moon, it caused an uproar. Many of the shinobi staged an attack against Varin led by Randal Morn himself. With Iven M.I.A for reasons unknown, it seemed victory was assured for Randal Morn and his followers. That was, until the return of Kensou Homura to Konoha.
The return of Kensou spelled the end for Randal Morn and his assault. By this time, Kensou's reputation as a stray member of the Uchiha clan and newly aqcuired title as "Kensou of the Flame", had spread far and wide amongst the lands of Daggerdale. Randal Morn was none-too-happy to see his illfated return. In the midst of the city ruins, Kensou clashed with Randal revealing the power of his Sharingan heritage and the power of his newly aqcuired toy, the Kyosetsu. Randal knew that the battle was over before it had even begun.
Kensou dispatched he and his companions with ease in a matter of moments. Afterwards he revealed that he was sent by Iven to step in during his absence and fortify the Varin's rule. It appeared that Kensou had also aligned himself with Iven for unkown reasons which was the beginning of a new regime, "The Order of the Fated Moon".
The Order of the Fated Moon:
Varin's alliance with The Order has had a mental effect on the people of Daggerdale and firecountry. The majority of their dalesmen obey the laws in place out of fear of what will happen if they don't. Though Iven and The Order has not physically taken up residence in the lands of Daggerdale, the threat of their existence and the connection to Varin, as one of The Order's Captains serves as a counscious shadow that looms over their lives.
Hokage: None
Village Location:
Konoha is located within the large town of Daggerfalls north of the towns entrance. It is segregated by a casing of stone walls seperate from the walls that surround the city.
Dagger Falls: (population: 3,204)
They're not pretty, but to the inhabitants of Daggerdale, the stone walls of Dagger Falls provide an great measure of added security in a troubled land subject to attacks from all sides. The walled town sits Northwest of Dagger Ford, where the Tethyamar Trail crosses River Tesh beneath the falls. The stone construction and steep slate roofs of the town's buildings allow them to survive heavy winter snows.
History:
Dagger Falls began as a storage site for dwarven metals being shipped down from the mountains to the southern lands. After all these years it's still a frontier town, a place where everyone wears weapons. Daggerdale itself began as the happy community of Merrydale. The community's peace and prosperity ended bloodily during an infestation of vampires. People forced to stake their undead children found little merry about the dale from that point, and after a few years the appelation fell out of use. Daggerdale-a translation of the valley's original name in the dwarven tongue-eventually supplanted the name of Merrydale.
Enemies:
(The Mysterious resistance of Shadows)
Lately Varin and the appointed guards under him have had a new threat to contend with. A mysterious resistance has been formed by skilled shinobi who use techniques centered around the manipulation of shadows. Their leader (if one exist), and the whereabouts of the mysterious groups operations have yet to be discovered. Varin, now frustrated and annoyed has directed his attention and efforts towards seeking out the mysterious faction and eraticating them. To date, their members have been able to elude Varin and his ranks by using deadly precision in their battle tactics & powerful foreign shadow techniques. In the last raid, just four of the mysterious ninja were able to dispatch over twenty-five jonin lvl shinobi from konoha before escaping with several important documents pertaining to the Order of the Fated Moon.
Many wonder why the rest of the Order and Iven himself has not stepped in to handle this matter. In fact, no-one from the Order has been seen for several weeks now leading many to suspect that perhaps konoha will finally be liberated.
(The Brightblade Clan)
The Brightblade Clan of dwarves have risen up in defiance of Varin and the Order since the death of Randal Morn. Once enemies of Randal's ancestors, the Brightblade clan had just begun to forge a new relationship. The death of Randal has made the Brightblade clan enemies of Konoha. They have since removed themselves from Daggerdale and taken up residence in an abandoned underground temple.
