Update. Finally all “location” information in the wiki has entered what I like to call “stage one”. God that took a long time. This is the minimum information available for each location. What I have outlined for stage two will be a massive undertaking. I plan to elaborate on the details of each content and nation in Eberron. This will include: Industries Life and Society Government and Politics Power Groups Religion Major Settlements

Once these items have been established, the locations can enter “Stage 3”. In stage three the finer details about each location will be included. Additonaly, as time passes in our campaing, the world dose not sit still while the players are off on their adventure. Updates their for will be included in this stage as the tables of power turn threwout eberron.

In other notes: Im still working on fine tuning the religions of Eberron, but its been put on hold a bit. In our next session the adventures will have to decide on a plan of action, so once theyv detailed a path for themselvs we will start to see more wiki adaptation in that direction.

Time line is now finished. (whew) And updates have been made to the gods… still a work in progress however. In addition, I am elaborating on the creation myth, in an effort to move away from the source books and make this campaign setting more my own than WotC’s. For more on how Im doing this check out The dawn of Prophecy

=( Tonights game was canceled. The location host has left on a business trip, but he tells me that next week he has vacation time from work and so promises a double header.

Why do I feel like the child dady left behind? He better bring me back a nice dolly!

Hey Nick, Thanks for the invite. I really look forward to seeing how your game progresses. I love the opening text and the rich detail. You have a good mind for dialogue too. I’m envious of your players to say the least. I have only found a handful of DM’s that I have found so far that use OP well. You are definitely in that respectable crowd. I discovered your site while admiring Arsheesh’s. You both are a big inspiration as I build mine. Now, if I could only get my player’s to take the time to look at it!! Keep up the good…great work.

Good news! Now that the campaign has officially taken off, I will begin to update the world as the players bend it to their will. All the areas of this site that are currently cut short or missing information will be fleshed out as they are explored by our adventuring party. Additionally, each week I will re-right our sessions into storybook style fantasy and post it in the adventure log (for those of you who already read the first log, take a look at the new picture I added ^^)

Now, the bad news =( Because we only play once a week, updates to this site will slow down dramatically. I’ve notest a few new fans to my campaign and your adoration is appreciated. But those of you who have been watching to site for a while may note that I will be making far fewer updates to the campaign each week (as apposed to the previous rate of many updates each day).

So again, to all the fans of this campaign and those that helped build this site; thank you.

Thanks _ Yes the beginning of Mass Effect 2 story line is the platform that this campaign jumps off from, combined with the Eberron Campaign Setting and a little mixture of my own concoction (eg: Shadow Bringer and the Black Hand).

Our campaign is officaly listed on page onehundredtwentythree of the obsidianportal campaign listings; the second to last page of the 3.5 filter! XD

The campaigns here are listed by name so the first campaigns start with numbers and the letter ‘A’ while the very last campaign is marked by some weird… ‘S’ character. Yet I dont understand how the unfiltered campaigns are listed… how can I get to the top?

Nice work on the maps. May I suggest adding a “Back” button when you click on each star?? It will be easier to go back and forth between the map and each location.

I’ll second the Maptools recommendation. It can be as simply a replacing the battlemat or it can become a very immersive tool for your world with cool features like:

1) Cool maps – there are several active communities that makes maps and objects for maps. Need a Tiger II tank in your dungeon for some reason, no problem!

2) Line of sight – no more arguing if a PC can “see” the target. MT does that for you

3) Fog of war. The map is only revealed based on what the PCs can see via light source. This is incredibly powerful as rooms that appear “normal” on the battlemat appear huge in MT as you slowly reveal the area via exploration

Updates have been made to the House Rules and Character tracker.
Iv added a very radical but balanced (I think) idea to combat mechanics and Im up-loading dossiers on the NPCs players will be able to add to the team throughout the campaign.
In addition, I will be adding a written intro to the story very soon, but I still need to work out the kinks in the time line. And before I can work out the [[Time Line]] I need to finish my [[Gods]]. So… You know.

LoL, well Im afraid you’ll be disappointed.
For you see, I to have never delved into “play-by-post” for the same reasons you have, it always seamed a little “lack-luster” for my taste.
Ho, for the online gaming I speak of takes place in real time. BEHOLD! RPtools
This is a place where you can down load and use innovative new utilities that will allow you to game in ways you never thought possible, the most awesome of which is “Maptool”. A utility so useful, it is said that your gaming capability improves just by looking at it!
Imagen a chat room where you and your friends can simultaneously explore and edit an image styled to your liking. But its much more than that. Maptool provides you with a face melting amount of helpful tools. For starters players can set there tokens (replacing miniatures) and move them around the snap grid, and with a simple mouse-over you can view the stats of each token. On top of that, Maptool lets you prewrite mathematical formulas with many variables and save them to macros; eliminating the need for time consuming complex algorithms! This vastly speeds up the campaign.
This is online gaming like youv only dreamed about. Im really quite surprised you have not heard of it. Maptool has so much to offer that even I have not mastered all its abilities. My friends and I only use the most basic of functions and still our experience is most bodacious.
I combine this resource with other online tools that “level-up” my game. Such as: The ever popular (or infamously sultry) video chat! and I employ the ultimate character generator HERO FORGE!. All my books are in pdf format, and I posses over 120. This allows me to use my computer as the single resource for all my gaming. Or if I should feel so inclined, I can take my laptop to the gaming table using maptools on a projected image (sadly I do not have a projector… so my face to face games still take place on a white board). Never the less. If it were not for RPtools, I would not have been able to game for many years while I was isolated from my friends. Now I can connect with who ever I want when ever I want for the cutting edge gaming adventure.
->Shakes fist in air, and smiles with furrowed brow<-

Huh, very interesting. I’ve never delved into online gaming: the whole “play by post” concept just seemed a little impersonal. Thant and I just figured it would take forever to accomplish anything since you had to wait for others to respond. But then I’ve never tried it either. You’ve peaked my interest. I’ll have observe how you do things in your online campaign to see if I might not have been mistaken in my earlier assessment.

A valid question Arsheesh! To which there is a very convoluted answer. So I’ll give you the quick version. Currently I, once a week, I meet with friends to game on Thursday nights. We’v been having fun but it was only last week that I purposed the idea of an online campaign. Our current group is lots of fun but I have a craving for a plot that develops at a pace faster than 4 hours a week. At our current rate, we level up about once a month. So things are very slow.

Two players showed interest when I told of how I used to run games online and behold! My glorious return to Obsidianportal. All this took place just last week and as of right now, Im not even sure the players are aware this site exists. So by this Thursday, when I see them in person I will know for sure what the status of our calender might be.

For now, I’ll continue to develop this world. Thanks for your interest! _ I’ll keep you posted.

Hey DiceMasterNick, followed address you left on the member’s introduction forum here. I like what I see so far: very detailed and imaginative site. Did you do that map your self?

One piece of advice I would offer though is to try and figure out a way to make the user interface a bit more approachable. Currently your site is fairly “Text Heavy,” and could use a bit of de-cluttering. One way to do this is to add some formatting features to your site, such as tables or site indexes (see ChainsawXIV’s sticky “A Totally Unofficial Help & Tips FAQ” for more on this). I’ve been trying to work on this myself in my current site “Tales of Darkmoon Vale” which you can find here: http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaigns/tales-of-darkmoon-vale. This said, I realize that your site is still under construction and you may already be planning to do something like this: if so, you can disregard this set of comments.

Cheers,

-Arsheesh
