Chericlo, one of the two remaining nation-states in the Realm of Zane is a hereditary monarchy whose royal lineage goes back as far as anyone can remember. Its capital – Chiron – sits atop a natural caldera, making it extremely defensible. The current Queen, Deydre III, rules benevolently but is known for being something of a xenophobe. Chericlo is focused primarily on peace and survival and so does not make technological/arcane progress quickly nor is it known for having a strong cohesive culture. It is very stable both politically and economically. Its climate is temperate with four regular seasons and contains within its borders nearly every type of forested or prairie terrain. The extreme north is a tundra inhabited by reclusive nomads.

Due to the importance Chericlo places on lineage, the kingdom is primarily a human nation.
