Roberts was born long ago, his parents were slaughtered by the Templars of the Fifth Wind, a radical sect of paladins devoted to the worship of Kord and battle. He was taken alive and trained as one of them, that he might someday serve in their armies. At the age of 19 he left behind the Paladins and struck out on his own. Eventually, he even acquired his own ship and crew, and fashioned himself the infamous, Dread Pirate Roberts. Since then, through a series of events he can only vaguely remember himself, he has come to live in the small rural village of Fieldan, in Eastern Llanowar, it is there that his latest journey began. Since then he has led his band of friends and companions across the world in search of Cailen’s wife, and in battle against forces of darkness greater than anyone alive has ever known. He and his band only recently learned the scope of the evil they face, and to defeat it they must plunge into the very heart of the Abyss. But Roberts himself must remain. He must stand with the Cavalonians, and hold off the forces of the Empire of Straad. For the people of Cavalonia shall rally behind Roberts, they hold him a hero, and with the recent death of their King, they haven’t much hope without him.

— Roberts led the forces of Cavalonia in the Battle of Three Passes. He and his men fought fiercely for every inch, but were eventually forced to surrender the passes and retreat to Dunmer Glen. There he learned of Argos’ betrayal when the Cavaliers arrived, and much to his surprise fell to attacking his troops. Roberts escaped the battle, along with Z, Kat, and a badly wounded Vantrag, due to the timely intervention of Davros and Gish…
