Caradine has little memory of his youth and what he does remember he’d just as soon forget.
He was identified very early as having an affinity for Psionics and was taken for testing. The experiments weren’t overly cruel, but Caradine was never allowed to see the outside world. His only companions were those experimenting and a few other test subjects in nearby cells. Eventually the experiments paid off…at least for Caradine. His powers unlocked he managed to escape into the city. He found a temporary home in a monastery devoted to acetic living and training the body and mind for combat. Eventually he applied for work with Loot and Plunder, LLC and proved to be a valuable asset both in combat and in “acquiring” things.
Caradine’s decision to follow the Raven Queen is unsurprising considering that the philosophy of “Death and suffering is simply an extension of life” dovetails his monastic training.
Being kept in a mage’s laboratory and submitted to various pokes and prods took its toll on Caradine. He is mistrustful of strangers and is sometimes volatile and hot-tempered even with those he has come to trust. This can make for tense moments, especially during negotiations.
