Pepplefen is a small forgotten village in the kingdom of Celestra, part of the Tricanian Empire. It is a prosperous place but isolated from most of the kingdom. Farmers and foresters are the main occupations in the village. Pepplefen trades with the river town of Derby, some twenty miles down river, and the peddler Fernando Lohmann, who comes by a few times a year. The village has a mayor but is mostly ruled by the clergy women, the Daughters of Ileana. Ileana is the Mother Creator. While there are various saints of both sexes recognized by Ileana’s followers, she is considered the One God and Tricania is a matriarchal society ruled by an empress. Pepplefen also has a priest and some brothers who serve the church. The village was founded by Sir Xavier Pepplefen who served a former queen some years ago and was awarded the land. Although, a portrait of Xavier hangs in Pepplefen Hall, little is known of the knight or why he was rewarded land in such a remote part of the kingdom.
