Hoit grew up in Jing Guo on Huo Shan and signed on with the Browncoat militia as soon as he could fool the right people into believing he was 18. While not a remarkable shot, his sharp eyes and cool head landed him as a spotter with a sniper team. In his downtime, his sharp eyes won his comrades money playing poker. Before the Alliance finished dragging the planet into unification, Hoit’s sergeant passed along a custom-painted deck of cards as a parting gift. With no father worth speaking of, the young Hoit viewed the deck like a family heirloom passed down from father to son. Hoit cherishes the deck to this day, and it serves as his touchstone as he roams about in the Black.
