Bio

The only recognized child of Captain Ephraim O’Brien, Molly was born and spent most of her childhood among the rigs of The Hoptoad. Her mother, Charlotte, had been the belle of Eire, a small seaside village. After falling in love with her beauty, Ephraim launched a raid on the town, and took Charlotte as his wife. However, Charlotte’s delicate nature caused her to fare poorly amongst the rougher crowd of The Hoptoad; by the time Molly had turned ten, the crew had begun to forget Charlotte’s protection under the Captain, and during a particularly lengthy journey without shore leave, Charlotte was attacked and killed.

Furious at his crew’s insolence, Captain O’Brien executed the few responsible for his wife’s defilement. In order to ensure his daughter’s safety, he purchased a street side apartment in Port Suffering for Molly to live in while he continued his life as Captain of The Hoptoad, returning every few months to visit and keep her financially supported.

Spending most of her time wandering the city out of her father’s pocket, Molly quickly learned the ins and outs of living on her own. This, along with her first ten years aboard a pirate ship, raised her to be quite the opposite of her mother’s fragile constitution. Eventually growing bored of life on her own in an empty house, Molly converted the bottom floor into a pub, and lived out of the second floor instead.

Despite the fact that service was slow and the food was unpalatable, turnout was decent due to Molly’s abundant charm. However, the pub’s popularity drew some unpleasant attention when Inquisitional members turned up one night. One of them felt that his authority covered his need to pay his bill, to which Molly thoroughly disagreed. After an incident of “I don’t care who you are, you pay your bloody dues!” and brief kerfuffle, Molly not only managed to get the money from him, but also gained recognition from his accompanying party. Although her actual combat skills were lacking, Molly’s dumb pluck had won her an offer to join the Inquisition.

After being branded as a heretic, Molly chose to remain with Six in a combined effort to escape the eye of the Inquisition. Surprisingly, Molly’s life had returned to being strangely similar to the life she led before joining the Inquisition. Poor food and decrepit housing were familiar and comforting, while the only source of stress, a constant worry of discovery by the authorities, was not too far off from a old worry over local police.

However, in light of recent events, Molly’s life has taken a drastic turn. Her once undying devotion to The Emperor has now turned to a realisation of his true weakness and dependency on his followers. She has chosen a path free of devotion, finding none of the Chaos gods to be worthy of worship (or wise to worship).
