Attractive: Whenever you roll a Persuasion test, you may re-roll a number of 1s equal to half your Persuasion rank (minimum one re-roll)
Connections (Rosewall): You have connections in this place, and you can tap them to gather information about them. You gain +1D on all Knowledge tests made while in your chosen location.
Polyglot: You may read any language in which you have at least 1 rank. As well, when exposed to a language with which you aren’t familiar, you may roll a Formidable (12) Cunning test to pick up enough of the tongue to get by. If this test succeeds, you gain 1 rank in the Language for the duration of the encounter. For every two additional degrees on the test, you gain an additional rank.
Worldly: When interacting with a character from the Free Cities or beyond, you gain +2B on all Persuasion tests.
Bastard Born: As a bastard, you take –1D on all Persuasion tests when interacting with characters with a higher Status. You do not take your family’s name. Instead, you gain a surname based on the lands of your birth.
Flaw (-1d Athletics): When you gain this drawback, select a single ability. You take –1D on all tests involving this ability.
Honor-Bound: You must re-roll all 6s on Deception tests and take the second roll, even if it’s worse than the first roll.
Nemesis (Moreo Tumitis): You acquire a destructive enemy, an individual who holds you in utter contempt whether you did something to deserve it or not. The particulars of this flaw are up to the Narrator to define, but your nemesis will undoubtedly haunt you until you confront him or her.
- Born in a brothel his mother claimed him to be a bastard of House Horpe but never told him who his father was.
- While running with street urchins, pickpockets, and thieves at a young age learned the value of the written word, saving ever copper he had for reading and writing lessons as a child.
- Made a name for himself as a smooth-talker and con-artists which quickly managed to land him the coin he need to find his way out of Westros and across the Narrow Sea.
- Spent most of his young adult life living in Tyrosh, negotiating shipments for criminal enterprises of Tyrosh with the rest of the Free Cities.
- Earned a reputation for dealing a fair trade with unfair goods while helping the underprivileged or underfunded establish themselves.
- After Moreo Tumitis, captain of the Storm Dancer, dumped some illegal cargo to avoid arrest he cut Tumitis from a good number of lucrative routes as punishment. Tumitis never forgave him for “destroying his lively hood” and a bitter rivalry has grown from the incident.
- Returned to Westros in his early-thirties after his taste for the Free Cities was soured by a disagreement with the Archon of Tyrosh over some complaints Tumitis lobbied against him. Upon his return he attempted to maneuver a place for himself in the underworld of King’s Landing.
- Still maintains strong ties to his underworld connections in the Free Cities despite having no formal connection with them any longer, many of which he still uses to undercut Tumitis.
- Quickly ousted from the already established King’s Landing after Tumitis sabotaged several of trade ships bound for King’s Landing. Before leaving he hired several pirate ships to harass the Storm Dancer and then headed south along the Rose Road until arriving in Rosewall. He hasn’t heard from or about Tumitis since his arrival in Rosewall.
- During a time of guild turmoil in Rosewall, re-negotiated several key contracts between various guild leaders and made himself indispensable to the every-day workings of the merchant class.
- Has recently taken a job as a footman for House Rosen as a way to be in the room of the ruling elite without raising suspicion, but still maintains a private residence and his criminal enterprises within the city.
- Has earned himself two nicknames over the course of his life, The Merchant of Dreams for investing in various underfunded enterprises and The Lord of Contracts for his penchant for written agreements.
- Hopes to build a similar network to what he has in the Free Cities in Westros and bridge the underworld of the two continents.
- Sometimes dreams of being recognized for his services and being landed. Laughs that he’ll take the name Archon, as a sort of back-handed homage to the title for the ruler of Tyrosh.
