Quinn is tall and muscular, with short brown hair and a Van Dyke beard. He attempts to hold a serious demeanor, but it breaks down constantly, as his curiosity or temper frequently get the better of him. He has a tiny scar on his right cheek, near the corner of his mouth.
He is usually encountered in his lamellar armor (which he spends hours maintaining), a gold-trimmed scarlet silk cloak with an ornate golden clasp bearing a Sceradic sigil, and a stylish, matching wide-brimmed hat. He’s not as scrupulous with his own appearance; even when he cleans up, Quinn looks a little dirty. The commissioned weapons of Mathghamhna, the falcata and kukri, hang from his belt; his sturdy steel shield is never far from his grasp. It bears his coat of arms, a silver nine-pointed star on a blue field.
Quinn has a strong Dalesman accent; when he tries to hide it, it only gets worse.
As soon as Quinn Mac Teague was old enough to pick up a sword, the Walkinshaw clan started training him to protect Invershire from monsters and rival clans. The Walkinshaws also taught their children to fear and shun the neighboring Faerie realm, but the lessons never stuck with young Quinn.
Quinn was still very young when a wizard from Mystral named Kenryk entered Cashiell Forest. Kenryk was on his way to conduct business in Faerie, but the Walkinshaws easily captured him, as his escort had already been slain by goblins. Quinn defied his elders and released the wizard, escorting him to the Faerie border – but not through it.
Quinn waited for three days; when Kenryk emerged, Quinn escorted him back to Mystral, where the fascinated young Dalesman soon felt even more out of place than he had in the Dalelands. Shardea Brightdelve soon recognized Quinn’s potential and squired him as a Spellknight; he has recently completed his apprenticeship, and has been deemed worthy to become a journeyman.
His first assignment was to escort Guild Wizard Baeren and the initiate Echo Moria, who were charged with accompanying a large shipment of supplies to the new Arcane Outpost in the Icatian city of Domglund. After being made a full Spellknight, Quinn now seeks the kidnapped daughter of Lady Anell.
Quinn’s training has given him some discipline, but he’s still pretty rough around the edges in the eyes of most Mystralytes. To his relief, his new duties will take him far from Mystral. He will never return to Invershire if he can help it, and never uses the Walkinshaw name (and seldom Mac Teague) when introducing himself. His self-consciousness sometimes makes him shy in delicate situations, especially around women. He is quite taken with Pastanti, a serving wench at the Koritsi Kai Kalukas in Balearaeos.
His divine power comes not from a god, but from the vows he’s taken for his order, and his conviction in his beliefs. However, Quinn’s faith in Saint Immotion is strong.
He presents a humble, helpful demeanor, and rankles in the presence of arrogance. As all paladins must, Quinn maintains respect for authority, acts with honor, helps those in need, and punishes those who threaten or harm innocents. He will not lie, cheat, or steal.
His Dalesman blood is too muddy for him to have any talent at arcane magic, which he makes up for with faith and zeal. He is fascinated by magic, and by those who wield it. His gratitude to his order, and to Shardea, is endless.
He tries to avoid alcohol, as he remembers its effects on Dalesmen all too well. He doesn’t care for ships or horses.

“Are ye in need o’help, then? Ye should tell me yer troubles, laddie.”
