Pantalaimon’s childhood was not the typical beginning most elves born in Ulthuan receive. He was born in Tor Yvresse, the shining capital of the coastal land of Yvresse. While this was not unusual in itself, what did make it unusual was that he was born in the White Halls of the Lord of Yvresse. He was raised there for the first few years of his life before questions began to arise about the true identity of his birth father. Fearing scandal, his parents were ordered out of the palace by Roherdiron, White Lord of Yvresse.
His parents took him west to the rolling and magical lands of Saphery. It was there he was raised. His father worked as a carpenter and also established himself in the area as a herbalist healer of good skill. His father would regail him with tales of his great uncle, a wizard of deep wisdom and great power named Redwood. Stories of his great uncle fighting alongside the forces of Sigmar himself against the great tide of Chaos in the first Great War.
It wasn’t long before his own latent magical talents were discoverd. He was sent to study as an apprentice at the White Tower of Hoeth, greatest source of knowledge and magic in all the know world. Whispers and rumors would circulate among the other apprentices about the true nature of his father’s identity and his claim to be the great nephew of a wizard as respected as Redwood. Often excluded and shunned from the other groups he would spend long hours studying tomes and maps on his own.
