The World in Ruins
This summarizes the start of this session. The World is in Ruins:
In the pedestal Level VI area, you find a device identical to the viewer/StarWars device from the dream cave.
Kel managed to destroy the buildings of all large towns and larger settlements, tens of thousands died, and then he managed to get away.
The ancients disappear, with a few exceptions, Tatnai sticks around, you eventually run into Ami and her group again in Argetlahn (the Kalashtar), and you encounter Auril. You get the impression there are others around.
When you returned to the Pyramid, the Dragon was gone as was the body of Osnappar.
Auril sets up a kingdom in the remains of the continent of Udolfcan (Indril & Otilannan / Drow & Duerger)
There is an explosion of “Ancient Discoveries,” and you start to encounter people with ancient magic aura, items, etc.
A group of Dragons set of a kingdom covering the eastern Elven and western Eladrin kingdoms, and another kingdom covering the continent of Alusys
So here is what I have for the plans for next Sunday:
Before Sunday – Can I get the following info (e-mail me if you cannot post to Obsidian portal):
What are your defenses before temporary modifiers (all 4 please)?
What is your typical at-will attack bonus?
Steve, what are your pedestal plans for your items?
Right now I’m estimating enemies should be somewhere around +28 to +37 to attacks (15-50% chance to hit the high defenses in the group) But I need to know where everyone is at, to decide where in that range to focus, or even if I need to shift the range. Defenses I’m less sure about, I think somewhere between 45 and 55.
Sunday –
The group wants to go to the viewing machine on the Island Structure and search for Kel, The Pyramid Dragon, Osnappar, and possibly other things and decide what to do next, possibly going to talk with Auril, possibly going after one of these three. The decision to search for the Ancient VII location was deemed not worth time.
Finally, I posed the idea of an arena for the last day, let the PCs and their super-powers have an arena combat. (Probably only need a couple hours to do that, if that)
There was a question about the color of the Dragons… asking around, you find differing descriptions, some say red, some say green, some white, some brown… its hard to get a clear bead on what, and you only have witness accounts to go on so far.

As for the arena, I’d rather not plan that in. It’s fun to talk about cooking frogs, but in practice rarely is.

All smacktalking aside, I’m not terribly enthusiastic about a free-for-all either. Me personally, what would interest me more if we want a tangent is maybe a group challenge like a “horde mode” sort of fight. Successively tougher and varied enemies to see how long we last.

Well, I still want to see the two remaining sets. I’m looking at 15-50% hit rate for the highest Defenses and a 50-85% for the lowest defenses. So far the attack rates are pretty close, so I’m looking at 50% hit rates for PCs on average, probably 35-65% overall, so right now, defenses of 43-52 extreme (46-49 average).
With the various mods you guys have, this should work out fairly well for you, I may have to up it difficulty by a couple points, or give the enemies circumstantial or temporary bonuses to balance. We’ll see how the first fights go.
