As long as he can remember, D’ezio has been alone and on the streets. He grew up in the Spiral, in the dark alleys. When D’ezio was 22, an old man approached him, called him by his name, and offered to teach him magic. D’ezio, seeing nothing else to do with his life, and intrigued by this man of whom he knew nothing, and took up an apprenticeship with the man who went by the name of Kaspernius. Ten years later, D’ezio buried Kaspernius and continued to study magic on his own.

After five years of reading Kaspernius’ books again and again, D’ezio packed up a few of his favourite tomes, Kaspernius’ wand and spellbook, and set out. He left the Spiral and traveled for three years until he came to the town of Thoren’s Reach. D’ezio developed an infatuation with the town and decided to stay. He lived there for three years on the streets.
