Character Development Quiz
1.) Describe your character’s relationship with their mother or their father, or both. Was it good? Bad? Were they spoiled rotten, ignored? Do they still get along now, or no?

Lan’s relationship with his parents is rocky to say the least. They don’t exactly approve of his carefree lifestyle and he doesn’t take kindly to their constant desires for him to do something with his life. Not even living on the other side of the planet helps Lan avoid the pressure. That said, communication has never truly broken down and they generally keep in contact.

2.) What are your characters most prominent physical features?

Long straight black hair (my good old staple!)

3.) Name one scar your character has, and tell us where it came from. If they don’t have any, is there a reason?

Lan’s pretty careful (and just a little vain!) so tends to avoid hazards as much as possible, as such he’s managed to get through life without any serious wounds, some knocks here and there but no permanent damage.

4.) How vain is your character? Do they find themselves attractive?

Wow, would you believe I didn’t actually read ahead following that last answer! Lan’s proud of his looks, not to the point of being an egotistical maniac about it, but he likes to make an effort for the ladddiiiieeesss!

5.) What’s your character’s ranking on the Kinsey Scale?

Somewhere between 1 & 2.

6.) Describe your character’s happiest memory.

First being given the Harmony… alright it’s broken as all hell but it’s what it represents that matters to Lan.

7.) Is there one event or happening your character would like to erase from their past? Why?

Nothing really.

8.) Day of Favorites! What’s your character’s favorite ice cream flavor? Color? Song? Flower?

Not sure if ice cream is a thing in the Star Wars galaxy and i have no idea about songs or flower varieties either!! Colour would be red.

9.) Who does your character trust?

Tends to be fairly trusting of most people unless given good reason not to trust them.

10.) Can you define a turning point in your character’s life? Multiples are acceptable.

I guess, once again, being given the Harmony. Here’s this big responsibility and task, really made it him wise up and appreciate the notion of working and earning money.

11.) Is there an animal you equate with your character?

Nothing that springs to mind.

12.) How is your character with technology? Super savvy, or way behind thetimes? Letters or email?

He’s handy with most tech, but the more in depth stuff like say how ships work etc is a little beyond him, though he is more than willing to learn!

13.) What does your character’s bed look like when he/she wakes up? Are the covers off on one side of the bed, are they all curled around a pillow, sprawled everywhere? In what position might they sleep?

Depends if he had company that night or not!

14.) How does your character react to temperature changes such as extreme heat and cold?

Not much of that really occurs on good old Tatooine but i imagine he’d briefly complain before getting on with the task at hand.

15.) Is your character an early morning bird or a night owl?

He’s not really one way or the other.

16.) Are there any blood relatives that your character is particularly close with, besides the immediate ones? Cousins, Uncles, Grandfathers, Aunts, et cetera. Are there any others that your character practically considers a blood relative?

No.

17.) What’s your character’s desk/workspace look like? Are they neat or messy?

It’s a sort of organised chaos. It’ll be kept together fairly neatly but scattered everywhere, that said Lan knows where to find everything when he needs something specific.

18.) Is your character a good cook? What’s their favorite recipe, whether they’re good or not? (Microwave mac-and-cheese applies.)

Ha, nope! He gets by on whatever cheap stuff he can find which requires little effort in the kitchen.

19.) What’s your character’s preferred means of travel?

Dude walks a lot to save money and keep healthy. It also helps he doesn’t live far from amenities.

20.) Does your character have any irrational fears?

None.

21.) What would your character’s cutie mark be?

Probably the silhouette of a ship, likely the Harmony

22.) If your character could time travel, where would they go?

Lan’s not much of a guy who dwells on the past or think too much about the future, he prefers to live predominantly for the moment. If he could time travel, he’d probably just use it to get money through gambling on sporting events or the like!

23.) Is your character superstitious?

Nope.

24.) What might your character’s ideal romantic partner be?

Anyone female! Just kidding! Or am I? For an actual serious relationship, Lan’s on the look for someone who can share his dream of travelling the galaxy.

25.) Describe your character’s hands. Are they small, long, calloused, smooth, stubby?

The kind of hands where you can tell they’ve been worked hard, but are still well taken care of and fairly smooth with dexterous long fingers.

26.) Second day of favorites! Favorite comfort food, favorite vice, favorite outfit, favorite hot drink, favorite time of year, and favorite holiday.

Food: Noodles (or the SW equivalent), vice – women, outfit – some snazzy white ensemble, hot drink – tea (or equivalent) time of year – not fussed, holiday – pass

27.) Pick two songs that describe your character at two different points of their life, and explain why you chose them.

Lets go with the obvious ‘Ballad of Serenity’ cos hey, it fits nicely, and I can’t think of another of the top of my head.

28.) If your character’s life was a genre, what would it be?

Some sort of laid back sex comedy?

29.) How does your character smell? Do they wear perfume or cologne?

Good old fairly top brand after shave

Dispositions :

Beka: I am truly sorry you had to see me at my absolute worst. I hope you know I never intended to go through with that arranged marriage, she might have been a nice enough girl, but you are the one I want to spend my life with… did I just say that?

Rak : I can’t imagine this was exactly comfortable for you either, but thank you for protecting my family.

Jace : You’ve redeemed yourself in my eyes a little protecting my family. Though how much of that was simply as it was Sith that attacked us, I don’t want to think about.

(Ex-)Parents : Well. Mother, I am glad you are ok. Father, maybe one day we’ll both regret our words and actions. But I don’t see it happening any time soon. I am glad we were there to protect you against the Sith, whether you like to admit or not, they would have come after you regardless of our being there. Then again, as things stand it feels like the same outcome in terms of our relationship, the only upside being we got the book, not the Sith.
