Bio
Sauros (916-952 AC) is a member of the Vloura tribe of Shadar-kai and reached the rank of field marshal before infiltrating Aurobin City. He lead the razing and slaughter of the village of Atma (the second time) in 950. Sauros is easily distinguished from other Shadar-kai by his uncommonly bright personality. A smile crosses Sauros’ face even while he discusses grim business or tragic events.
Born Daniel Mundun Sauros, the young Shadar-kai dropped his given names when he joined the Vloura army at age 16. After murdering his superior officer in a successful gambit to infiltrate the rival Everine tribe, Sauros was put in charge of his company. Two wars later, he was a field marshal plotting his own merciless tactics from the front lines. Counting only Shadar-kai tribal conflicts, Sauros carries the blood of some six thousand soldiers and civilians on his hands.
By Summer 950, he had been made royal vizier to the king. Upon His Majesty’s assassination, Sauros ruled Aurobin City almost unchallenged through the king’s soul heir, 12-year-old Manthyos Aux V. This persisted for even a few months after the Vloura Conflict ended. With his leader Charles Phoenix (known as the Slain Commandant) off transforming into a deity, in those months Sauros answered to no man for the first time in his life.
Before the end of the year, the new god Charles Phoenix called Sauros to be his high priest. The always-smiling Shadar-kai was initially obstinate since Phoenix’s godhood ritual cost the lives of thousands of Sauros’ comrades. Only when Charles Phoenix described a plan to bring them all back did Sauros relent. The high priest followed his lord’s orders to the best of his ability; despite a number of setbacks, Sauros was at last able to complete his prime objective on New Years Day, 952, before being defeated by the true bearer of the Grimoire. Success meant that the Void Snake was now a sephiroth of Charles Phoenix.
For first degree murder and disrupting the coronation of King Manthyos Aux V, Sauros was condemned to the dungeon below the castle. After sixteen hours, he drowned himself with a small bottle of bourbon.
