Bio

I was born to be the serf of a minor Hochland noble – reap, sow, repeat until dead was to be my life. As a young man, while taking some pigs to market, I was set upon by a small group of brigands who promptly beat me to within an inch of my life, severely breaking my nose in the process. As I lay in the mud looking up at my triumphant tormentors, the leader’s head exploded, showering me with bits of blood, brains, and bone. The thunder of hooves and screams of equine rage put the remainder of the ruffians to flight, and I had discovered a new direction in my life – to be a Road Warden, protecting the innocent travelers of the Empire’s roads from the dangers that beset them.

Hat in hand, I approached my savior and asked him how I could become like him. He must have seen something besides mud and blood because he gave me directions to the nearest recruiting centre. Leaving the farm in the capable hands of my 3 brothers, I left my village to follow my dreams. 3 years later I find myself stationed in Eastern Averland, trying to be six places at once, protecting hordes of oblivious halflings from dangers they don’t even know exist, and keeping an eye on a pretty widow who takes perverse delight in twisting an ignorant farmboy around her dainty fingers.

The upside of the assignment, aside from the girl, is the fact that my old training sergeant, Bernolt Eisenhauser is here as well. He’s a good man and is the type of Road Warden I aspire to be. Oh, and the beer and food is outstanding. All in all, there’s worse places to be in the Empire. I just wish that something exciting would happen sometimes….
