I am Eladrin, an outsider in this realm. How I came to be born here, I do not yet know. The identity of my parents is a mystery…I was found and raised by humans. They were kind enough, but I found no peers among them in my childhood, as I was seen more as a novelty than anything else. Eladrin are not common in this land, and the few that I have had contact with have known nothing about me or my circumstances. Why was I born here, and not in my true home in the feywild? Was I brought here and simply abandoned, or did my parents meet their end here? If my parents are dead, why was I spared? These questions continue to haunt me, and I will find answers.
While my days were spent helping my adopted family run their meager shipping business, my nights were spent studying the history of this realm, hoping for any scrap of information that will lead me to my home. As a result, I have become quite adept and harnessing this realm’s magical energy, and was finally able to leave my modest adoptive home by joining the fighting forces.
Finally able to receive regimented training (my adoptive parents could not afford such), my skills as a Wizard are increasing daily. My abilities to decimate many enemies at once with arcane fire have alternately caused awe and fear amongst my comrades. For this reason, I am still not considered “one of them”.
My associates have taken to calling me “Quarion the Grim”, as I often spend long hours in study, and do not usually participate in their casual celebrations. However, I do not find the name fitting. It is not for lack of humor that I do not celebrate – I choose to spend my time learning all that I can so that I can finally seek out my homeland.
It seems I have no true home as long as I remain in this realm. My only hope is to one day be able to travel to Shaelas Tiraleth, the only feyspire in this country. There, I hope to find clues to my past, and possibly to my fate.
