Background

Zander was born the son of the humble stable keeper Lannar Thistleton in Fallcrest. He had a decent enough childhood and wanted for nothing but a little taste of excitement. Working as a groom and stablehand in the family business, he got to hear great stories of the outside world from merchants and travelers from all over the realm. While his father promised him the modest family business and a decent living when he got old enough, this was certainly not the life he wanted. Adventure and gold, that was what Zander would live for. When he became old enough to go out on his own, he gave up the horse business and began exploring and adventuring, hanging out with the wrong crowd and learning all sorts of more “useful” skills. His family may have disowned him, but he plans to make them proud by making a real name for himself. After gaining recognition from the local authorities for all the wrong reasons, Lord Markelhay saw in Zander a set of skills he found useful…
