You stand on the precipice of exploring a mythical world in which you will not only unearth treasure and gain renown for your great acts of adventure, but discover the ancient mystery that hides this land’s past.

The common language of Candlewood is Berrelin, a language spoken by humans and most other races. In addition to the common tongue there are other racial based languages. Beyond these known tongues, there exists an ancient, unknown written language that is just now beginning to be unlocked, and that by only a select few scholars.

Because you have grown up in this land you are familiar with the common myths, legends, and lore that compose Candlewood’s past. One truth you have learned is that the history of Candlewood only extends back a few thousand years. Before that time, nothing is known of the land’s history. There are, however, scattered ruins throughout Candlewood that seem to date back to this unknown period. These ruins represent an advanced civilization that smilingly vanished from the land. The mystery of these ruins and the undeciphered written language associated with them is the focus of scholars today. It is believed that this ancient language holds the key to understanding the hidden history of Candlewood.
