Sera is an eighteen year old human girl of Varisian decent. She has a small, athletic body and an attractive face. Her thick locks of hair are dark brunette in color and worn short. Her eyes are violet and her skin is dark Caucasian.
Being rather untraditional Sera forgoes the bright colors and scarves so common in her culture. She almost always wears her black studded leather outfit—though she may wear other clothes on top of it to keep the armor beneath concealed—and she conceals a variety of weapons and tools around on her body and in her clothing.
Like many of her kind, Sera grew up in a wandering caravan. Her clan traveled between the various large towns to entertain the crowds and relieve distracted travelers of their valuables.
Although a skilled acrobat, more often than not Sera worked the crowds rather than entertained them. She was quiet the nimble little pickpocket and she consistently brought home more valuables than many others in her clan did. There were several close calls to be sure, but she always managed to find a way out of them when things went bad—even if it meant smacking an alerted mark or town guard upside his head with frying pan. Although a tomboy at heart, she wasn’t above using her feminine allure to her advantage or pretending to be an uninvolved, innocent girl while the town guard chased after the boys. She was nothing if not resourceful and used whatever means was at hand to make good her escape.
Growing up in a wandering caravan as she did, Sera got to explore the Ustalav countryside and learned many things about the local legends and superstitions. Her interest in legends and superstitions spurred her interest in the Thassilonian runes. The many uneventful moments travelling between towns left ample time for her to pursue her hobby and over time she became quite knowledgeable about them.
In her mid teens, Professor Petros Lorrimor was in need of an expert in Thassilonian runes. In searching out such an expert, he learned of Sera and managed to catch up with her traveling caravan. With a little persuasion, he managed to acquire her services. The Professor had to make one more stop along the way though—to see a Harrower of some repute named Morrigan that he had recently learned of. So they traveled to the small village of Ravenholme to meet with her.
Sera always found unconventional people to be interesting. She got along well with both the kooky Professor and the pale Harrower and soon came to consider them to be her friends. Morrigan gave the Professor a dark portent in her reading and, sure enough, not long into their journey their small caravan became under attack by orc raiders on a rickety bridge while crossing a ravine. At one point the Professor found himself dangling off of the bridge, but fortunately for him the little thief was a resourceful and athletic girl. She managed to pull him to safety and, along with Morrigan, fended off the orc raiders. Fortunately the orcs numbers were few and the pair of girls proved more difficult to overcome than they had the stomach for. The girls got the Professor back to safety; He was grateful of course and promised not to forget them. Soon thereafter she returned to her caravan.
Just recently she received a pair of notices regarding the passing of the Professor and his upcoming funeral. She made her way to Ravenholme to deliver the sad news and pick up Morrigan to attend the funeral with. She was surprised to find Morrigan already packed and waiting for her arrival.
