The Long Summer

Vale, a town jammed between the edge of the Prairie and the rise of the Rocky Mountains has seen very little in development within the last fifty years. Its poor water resources and isolated location have made turned it into a backwater with little government oversight. Here social outcasts, criminals, and political refugees have found a home where they won’t be bothered by normal society. This assortment of people has made for a very odd way of life with customs and manners that any outsider would be bewildered and amazed by.

In 1923 Susan Hoffman was murdered in Vale. She was found dead in her home by her servants. The police have no leads and after one too many detectives have gone mad or missing they have closed the case. Her father Albert Hoffman, a wealthy industrialist, has refused to let his daughter die without justice.
