Things are going to be a bit different when we start this campaign. I hope that I have managed to spread the excitement to you all about what This Hybrid D&D system will have to offer.

The story goes as thus:

Each starting character is the "decedent" of one of the guardians of the 12 Chakra Swords. 20 years ago, the guardians of the Chakra Swords were attacked (perhaps by one of the guardians who wanted all the swords for him/herself). Somehow the swords were either hidden or taken by this bad guy, but a piece from each of the swords was dismantled and somehow hidden away with your character. Your character is the heir to the guardianship and you can design the story of how your character escaped the bad guy, what happened to the old guardian (but you can not have contact with them) and what part of the sword you still possess (pommel stone, guard, shard of the blade, the scabbard, adorning gem or signet etc..)
     The piece you possess is magical in nature, so please pick a Minor Magical Item from the 3.5 DMG (needs to be approved by me, and not just a +1 to something item). Make sure that your choice is not a 1 time use item.

Third Eye – related to vision and psyche
Iugulan – related to communication
Umerian – related to protection
Heart – related to the heart
Braccia – related t combat prowess
Mannus – related to destructive power
Dantian – the center of energy in the body
Crus – related to strength
Pes – related to movement
Soul – related to spirit
Totem – related to guidance

The world that was:

For hundreds of years the world was at peace, ruled by the elven city states in the center of civilization. On the perimeter were the tribes and enclaves of the humans. Few humans lived in the elven "hub" of civilization unless they were there as slaves to do the work the elves felt was below their standing. The gnomes held a special place of honor in the elven city states, not free but well treated slaves who were valued for their intelligence and power with magic. The gnomes were often the teachers and artisans of the elves. The dwarves traded extensively with the elves, and their halls beneath the earth were warm and welcoming. Beyond the the boarders of the human tribes, far from the hub of civilization were the barbaric races of monsters,kept at bay by the light of the elves.
     The evil of the world was held back by the power of the 12 Charkra Blades. These ancient artifacts were crafted by elven and dwarven smiths together, each keyed to a different energy source in the body. The blades in ancient times lead armies against the evil races of darkness and made it possible for civilization to prosper. The elven city states become the center of the world, they lived in partnership with the dwarves who cared for the earth beneath their feet. Since many humans had fought on both sides of the conflict, there was a great distrust of them and they were relegated to the frontiers to be the first line against the evil races. Gnomes and halflings were welcomed in the hub, but were treated like second class citizens.
     Then the darkness came, most will tell you that it was unexpected… but plenty enough knew about it and chose not to stop it out of hubris or simple disbelief, others were powerless to change a system that was so steeped in tradition. However it was allowed to happen, the citadels of the Chakra Swords were compromised and many of the sword were captured by the darkness. But, some of the guardians were resourceful and they managed to hide away a piece of their sword so when the darkness came, the sword did not have its full power.
