While thinking of names for his character, Lee went through his grandpa’s old stories for inspiration and came across the name “Ajay” from the story of a slave who revolted against his cruel master and became king of a nation. With that in mind, he quickly came up with a bio for his character.
Chains. That’s his first memory. Chains. The sound they make whenever you move. The weight as they inhibit your movements. The feel of them as they chafe your skin. The metallic smell. Even the taste as you try to bite your way out.
He didn’t know how long he was in bondage, just that he always has been, they say his mother died in labor, and was left in the care of one of the other slave women, it always changed whenever she was sold off; some were nice. He never knew his father. When he came of age, his Sulis heritage became apparent, as his arms immolated and melted off his bindings, causing a commotion in the slave camp. The other slaves took this as a sign and fought off their captors while his “mother” at the time told him to run and never stop. In the back of his mind, he often wonders what became of them.
He ran through the night, never stopping until dawn when he passed out from exhaustion in a nearby river. When he awoke, he found himself in large cavernous room with immaculate statues and frescoes depicting various moments in history. He wondered to himself if he had died in the night.
The thought was quickly extinguished as an elderly man approached him with food and water, of which he cautiously helped himself to. The man revealed himself to be Monk Aang, and asked the young Sulis his name, of which he never had one, as one was never given to him. The monk smiled sorrowfully and named him after his son, Ajay, who he lost long ago due to his own failings. He told the boy that this is a meeting of second chances, as now he has a son that he can protect and guide and that Ajay now has a life of freedom.
After training for years in the Qinggong Sect of the Temple of Four Winds on the Sacred Mountain , the young Monk Ajay took a Vow of Serfage, so that he would never forget his past and the cruelty of subjugation. Months later his father Aang passes, prompting him to live his own life, a life a freedom. With chains.
Player Character: Lee
A few months ago Lee made some friends while playing online under his alias 100KN.J^2, or “J-Squared” for short, or Lee for friends. They ended up playing many more online games together despite the physical distance between them. Soon after, the idea of playing HeroPlane began circulating among them, and despite the current decline of interest, decided to give it a shot. Though Lee himself is a bit eager to be “meeting” his online friends for the first time, and it would provide an excellent escape from his current situation, but he still needs to make time for school and spending time with his family, especially writing to his grandpa.
