Aust grew up in the deep fastness of the Yuirwood, home to a settlement of Half-elves. He enjoyed the wildness of the forest, but never seemed truly comfortable in the shadowy foliage. It was only on the plains and scrublands outside the forest to the surrounding cities that he felt most at peace.
He had always possessed a prideful demeanor, but after undergoing a trial of manhood he returned with a righteous anger that would propel him to grand heroics. For his trial he was tasked with venturing deep into the forest and slaying a predator of the forest. For 3 days and nights he found not a single creature. Then at dawn of the fourth day a magnificent lion woke him and waited with a knowing look. A lion had never been seen in the forest before, and none had ever been brought back from these hunts.
Clad in his trophy pelt and with weapons and armor made by his own hand, he joined the Aglarond army and briefly fought against Thay. Deciding that the regimented life of an army was not for him he has set out to see the wonders of the world and now ventures a as a sword for hire.
