Bio
Han Chien-Fu was born in Hong Kong in 2044 from Refugees parents. His dad, a Wujen too, soon became prosperous (a shadowrunner too – unknown to Han Chien-Fu at that time) and raised his son under the way of the Wujen from an early age. Goblinization hit Han Chien-Fu at puberty but Hong Kong people being pretty tolerant in that regard it didn’t affect him as much as it would have elsewhere. He was most ostracized for being Awaken that an Ork.
Life changed in 2068 when his dad died, suspectedly from the Triad gang war going on at this time in Hong Kong. Torn in sorrow, pain, anger, the great Phoenix Empress appeared to him. He understood later she was going to become his Mentor Spirit, a very rare occurrence in Wujen Tradition. And a great honor.
Han Chien-Fu took on the shadows like his father before him. A respected acupuncturor by day and a runner by night.
Life of a runner was made of highs and lows, the latter somehow persistently happening. Lately Chien-Fu caught the attention of a Triad group. They offered him a position in their organization. He refused and killed their own personal Wujen. But the gang had more pull than Han Chien-Fu had expected. First his home was destroyed, then all of his contacts dried up or disappeared. Under the guidance of the Phoenix, he understood it was time to disappear too. And head for the Americas.
Using up the last of his resources, he got in touch with a small time fixer in the L.A sprawl who managed to arrange for the smuggling and relocation of the Ork Wujen. The fixer put him in relation with an unknown “sponsor” who loan him enough money to restart his life. With no contact or acquaintance in the sprawl and now more indebted than he had ever been, Han Chien-Fu follow the last advice from his fixer: “Check out Old Hollywood”.
