Tom survived a bandit raid which killed all of his immediate family, Father, Mother, Sisters, Aunt, Uncle and cousins. Through quick wits and faster reflexes he escaped the bandits and eluded them in dense undergrowth.

He was rescued from freezing to death by a group of adventurers
