Sigrún Valkerie was born to wealthy merchants in Lordaeron. Her parents were very generous and taught her the values of caring for others and helping those in need. It came about that her parents were assassinated and all their possessions taken. Sigrún, with no other living relatives, was forced into an orphanage and a life very different from that which she had known. She began to find greater suffering existed than she had ever imagined and she did not know how she was supposed to care for all of those in need. As Sigrún grew older, she was forced from the orphanage and was taken in to study with the Kirin Tor. During her time with the Kirin Tor, she found a mentor in a warlock disciple of the Raven Queen, which was kept secret from the Kirin Tor. She was approached by the belief that suffering and death are inevitable, and should not be mourned. While she embraced the belief that death is inevitable, her background prevented her from being able to cast off her need to relieve suffering whenever possible in life. Because of this failing, she has come to see herself as an outcast in her faith. After the second war, Sigrún’s involvement with the warlocks came to light and she faced banishment from the Kirin Tor. Krasus, one of the six who rule the Kirin Tor, in an attempt to renege her banishment, offered that she be sent on a quest set about by King Terenas II as a member of a party whose mission was to ascertain the motives or forces compelling the red dragons to aid the orcs in their continued assaults on the Lordaeron Alliance. Thus, the adventure begins…
