Shy and mildly introverted, Gilly curses her natural beauty, as she doesn’t wish to be in the spotlight. Unfortunately, her magics and rituals affecting large areas cause people to turn their heads whenever she actually goes to work, leaving her with the unwished position. Over the years her self esteem has improved, but not by a whole lot, unfortunately.
Considered a natural beauty even among the elves, Gilly doesn’t dress to show it. Her short and lean body is covered by the light blue, hooded cloak she likes to wear, with her long, reddish-brown hairs running out of the front of the hood.
Gilraen, or Gilly for her friends, was a pretty Elven girl, actually a sought-after status symbol for the boys of her forest community, when her affinity for the arcane arts were accidentally discovered. She had always been prone to accidents, but now the accidents actually appeared to have a cause nobody close to her could explain. Her community relied on hunting and their affinity with the Fey for survival, not on the arcane, so nobody was able to fully explain her situation.
It didn’t take long for a human wizard, Isaiah, to appear, apparently attracted by the power of Gilly. He played his cards on the uncertainty that surrounded her and her family to convince her to join him for study. Together, they went out to the wizard’s tower to let Gilly learn to control whatever ‘accidents’ were following her.
It didn’t take Gilly long, however, to realize something was wrong. Large amounts of food were brought in, though only little was consumed. The sewer system often had problems bigger then only two people could create. She had learned some, but not much, when she stumbled over the hidden prisoners of Isaiah, barely fed and of many races. She knew that confronting Isaiah would probably cause him to put her with the prisoners, so she used the knowledge she had acquired to free them from their predicament.
It didn’t take long for Isaiah to find out. When he did, though, Gilly had already transported everyone far away from the tower. She didn’t know where her new friends went, but at barely twenty years old she went to settle down in a town called Verulia, where her rituals and magic allowed her to become a town handyman, easily and quickly repairing broken things all around town. She did her best to keep a low profile, but her apparent harmlessnes kept her from not getting any friends with the locals.
