Bio

For the first part of Kyir Queryl’s life he was raised in a small, nomadic, elven community. He was taught the ways of the bow and blade, learned the arts of being unseen, educated on how to commune with nature, and shown the old ways and taught the rituals of his ancestors. He learned quickly and proved himself as a hunter at a young age. And although not all of his community accepted his half human heritage they still respected his abilities even if not always who he was. As Kyir reached adulthood he was put to the trials as all men and women of his tribe were at that age.

The trials differ from elf to elf and are designated by the talents of that particular individual. There were trials of the Magi such as spirit walks or banishing of evil spirits, there were also trails of the Warrior where games were held for feats of endurance or powerful beasts were hunted, not much is said about the trials so as to keep the young from being over prepared or cheating. But Kyir was given the tests of the Ranger, the first test was simple, he was sent to track and hunt a pack of wolves which troubled the town they were passing by. After dispatching the pack he was immediately sent upon his second trial which was slightly more difficult, he was sent to be trained as a ranger by an “old soul”. Kyir traveled for weeks in the wilderness before stumbling upon what looked like a beautiful elven woman bathing in the river, Kyir approached cautiously but made his presence known so as not to startle her. She turned to him coyly and beckoned him over with the slightly seductive wave of a finger. Being a young man in his prime he didn’t hesitate and strode over to the edge of the water, she slyly smiled at him as she rose from the water and met his gaze, she was completely nude and glistening in the light of the afternoon sun as it played of the droplets of water caressing her form. Before Kyir knew what was happening she had tripped him to the ground and was ontop of him, her face inches from his own, her eyes piercing right through him. Her knife tickling his throat.

This was Kyir’s first, and possibly most memorable, lesson. “Don’t allow a beautiful blade to slip your guard” She spoke the words in Sylvan, a language that at the time Kyir only had a simple knowledge of. She arose from him and dressed, albeit at a slower pace than was necessary, she told him that he was expected, that the leader of his tribe had used magical means to convene with the creatures of the Feywild, telling them that he was coming and would require training. Kyir struggled to keep up with her complex explanations of things in the Sylvan tongue but managed a basic understanding of the message.

Feraisayr, as Kyir would come to know her, was the most beautiful woman Kyir has ever known, her flowing auburn hair always laid perfectly upon her shoulders, her eyes as blue as the clearest sky on the most beautiful day of summer, her body was pleasing to look at and her demeanor was always warm and inviting. Feraisayr began teaching him the ways of a Ranger of the Feywilds. The second lesson taught to him was not to take all things as they appear, which is when he learned she was no simple elf, but a Nymph. He didn’t feel quite as bad about being done in by her overwhelming beauty at that point, but was still embarrassed at himself by the ease of his defeat. She lived there in the forest, making her home where ever she decided to lay her head that night, she taught him how to properly stalk prey and thank the land for it’s bounty after it was earned. He was taught how to make a proper bow in the Sylvan style and shown how to blend into the natural world around him along with how to properly speak in the Sylvan tongue.

His training continued for years and Feraisayr taught him things from all walks of life, from hunting and fighting, to subtle manipulation and how to become one with the flow of the world. His favorite lesson though was the time she taught him about seduction and how to use it to his advantage as this lesson was very “hands on”. From time to time Feraisayr would take Kyir into the outskirts of a nearby town and the would watch the locals, she would tell him the stories of their goings on and make him watch their daily routines, studying them so that he may learn to blend in as well in their world as he did in their own. Finally the day came where they headed into the village posing as travelers wandering the markets. Feraisayr called upon her magics to disguise herself as a human woman (still of immense beauty) and assured Kyir that his other heritage did have it’s uses as well, he was stunned when she spoke perfectly unaccented common to the local innkeeper though he wasn’t sure why. They took up rooms in the local inn and during the weeks they spent there Kyir learned the ways of every day humans, he traded, he worked, he stole, did favors, seduced, and did everything else Feraisayr deemed important to know about humans. Being a nymph Feraisayr reveled in chaos and the natural flow of things, although her intentions always seemed good and she was kind to all living beings. Kyir, without realizing for the most part, began to adopt many of the same tendencies as his mentor and he became fond of the idea that he was becoming more like her.

After some years passed with him shadowing Feraisayr it came time for his second trial to end. She smiled at him that morning, they hunted and foraged a nice breakfast, and then she lead him back to the river where they first had met. There she washed him in the waters all the while recounting her favorite stories of their time together. And then as he stood there nakedly in the waters infront of her she smiled and moved to kiss him on the cheek, he quickly grabbed her wrist and forced away a hidden knife, smirking all the while. She kissed him fully then and wordlessly left, walking nakedly back into the forests and disappearing with no discernible trace even to the eyes of a trained Ranger such as Kyir.

Kyir finally found his was back to his tribe and was welcomed with open arms, he stayed with them for a time, but after two months he was approached by the elder of the village and told that his final trial was to begin. Kyir was told that he was to find his way within the world, to follow the winds of change and destiny, and to return to the tribe as a man worthy to lead it. So he set out on his way, following whatever path that life may present to him.
