#2.8, Charade, II

You can fool some of the people all the time, and those are the ones you want to concentrate on.
- GW Bush

#2.7, Charade, I

Belladonna, noun. 1) In Italian a beautiful lady 2) in English a deadly poison. A striking example of the essential identity of the two tongues.
- Devil’s Dictionary

#2.6, Hot Water, III

Some people, when their plans don’t go the way they originally intended, give up. Not our heroes. Oh no. No, instead they call up a bunch of their friends and allies and unleash a Horde in Dallas’s K-Town.

#2.5, Hot Water, II

Everything seemed wrapped up for the night, at least right up until Conor gets a text that Midori’s parents have been kidnapped and their house is full of Korean graffiti. Erica loses her composure with interesting results.

#2.4, Hot Water, I

What does the blood of seven 90 year old nursing home residents, diamonds, and the murders (and skinning) of four Ogres have to do with Dallas? That’s a very good question, one that the Warden seeks to answer.

#2.3, That Is Not My Name

Amidst the chaos that wracks the world following Harry Dresden’s destruction of the Red Court, people get along as best they can. However a kidnapping turns into something far darker on a quiet Texas Ranch.

#2.2, Easy Money, II

The heroes have tracked down the source of the kidnapping ring’s training and expertise. What will happen when they go to face down both the Mayas Motorcycle gang and the mysterious foreign soldiers.

#2.1, Easy Money, I

The new American Dream; come to America a poor starving immigrant and make your fortune with the time honored way – either sue your way to millions or kidnap somebody with family that has millions.

From time to time I get asked how we handle Magic in Dresden… well this is one way.

PG-13

Adult themes, etc. – language is hopefully sufficiently “bleeped” out – just be aware.

"Honey, are you sure you want me to do it?"

The speaker was Belle Starr. Her distinctive red hair, Texas Hill Country drawl, and red pickup truck were beloved features of the local supernatural community. She was also a practitioner of Nordic themed magic of some considerable skill; her specialty was home and hearth.

She was speaking to a man that she knew, but at the moment could hardly recognize. For almost twenty years, a handsome immigrant from western Ireland made his living as a pub musician for tips. ‘Starving artist’ was a term that completely applied to the charming guitar picker that she had first met in a Dallas area pub. He was also one of the Fae, which added tremendously to his supernatural appeal. Today he had traded his blue jeans, tweed cap, and work shirts for a battleship gray, athletic cut Christian Dior suit.

“Will that be all for today my Lord?”

Conor O’Neill was sitting on the end of his bed in a very large, very empty house. Or at least it felt that way at times. In actual fact, there were several other creatures in the home with him. However, they tended to stay invisible and out of sight. There were, however, a couple of exceptions to the rule and one of them was an attractive blonde Sidhe fae, currently wearing a dark gray chauffeur costume. She was leaning on the door frame of Conor’s room, arms folded, with one foot crossed in front of the other. She was looking at the Changeling that had, in the past few weeks, become her leige lord… after a manner of speaking. It all sounded pretty fancy, but in the end, she drives the car.

Conor had been watching the news; recent events in Dallas had been chaotic in the extreme. The fallout and repercussions of the past month would undoubtedly be felt for years to come. For a simple Irish country boy like Conor, it was very nearly too much. It felt as though he was being pressed, pushed, stretched, and crushed in several different directions by several different forces.

He reached up with his remote and shut of the television, at the time showing rebroadcast footage from the SMU Library dedication. “Aye Rox.”

With a disappointed smile that only crooked one corner of her mouth, the driver nodded; turning to go.

“Wait…”

An Eochair

“I feel like I’m drowning in your world.”

Marisa was looking at the contents of a package that had recently arrived from Switzerland, clothing, shoes, perfume, jewelry and other sundries that would have been difficult to carry through the Nevernever in the jaws of a wolf. They had mailed these things to Dallas prior to leaving Europe. Finally they had arrived and she had come over to pick them up.

Conor O’Neill was standing nearby. His “care package” from Switzerland unopened. However, he was already wearing clothing that would have looked more at home on a Wall Street tycoon than a former bog-Irish farm boy from Connemara. Incongruent with the expensive Italian suit and shoes was a bottle of Guinness Foreign Extra Stout.

Well, maybe the Irish farm boy wasn’t completely gone.

He looked at the lovely blonde with whom he had been spending many long hours (and weekends) for nearly nine months. “Like you’ve been taken down Alice’s rabbit hole an’ you’re still a fallin’?”

She stopped tracing a line with her finger on one of the bracelets in the box. “Si. I feel like that.”

He took another sip before continuing. “In the old days, mortals back home, in the English, called that bein’ ‘Fae Struck’.”

This game structure flows across several small scenes across several days. I’m going to try and put down some basics and hope StageLucas has time to go in and edit the dates and events – Wolfhound

Anyone that wants to tackle some of these and add additional info that I may have missed, please feel free.

Stagelucas: Some of these dates might be a little off. I’m going off my original story notes, but since Jamie was absent I had to improvise a bit and promptly forgot to write down the improvised dates. Anybody remembering better than I when the sequence of events occurred, please edit as needed.

Oh Goodness

April 01, 2013 14:00

“Oh goodness! Oh goodness!” I zoomed around my purple plastic Barbie doll house, frantically flapping. I had to get a grip! Sighing, I stopped. “It doesn’t fit!” My foot still hurt from kicking the dresser earlier, but I kicked it again anyway. “Ow ow ow ow…” It’s time to go talk to Verdia.

“… and so I was putting on my favorite purple dress, and it didn’t fit!! I ripped a seam and it was way to short!! What do I do Verdia?” I sighed yet again, and chugged my double chocolate caramel espresso.

Verdia bit her lip in thought as she scrubbed the thimble she was cleaning. “Have you noticed any new… uh… abilities lately?” she asked.

“Oh yeah! They are so cool! Watch!” I backed up to shoot the wall.

“WAIT!! Chrys…,” she winced and I knew she was remembering the last, shall we say, incident.

Though she can’t read it, the graffiti is in Korean. Looks like the KBZ strikes again. Hot Water, I

March 29, 2013 19:00

The chaos in the Metroplex continues. However, even with everything in the supernatural world going crazy (with spillover into the mortal one), some things just stand out as being … really bad news.

While investigating a “tip” – Warden Harper discovers that seven nonagenarians in various assisted care facilities throughout the Metroplex area have been drained of blood. Investigation quickly reveals, no vampire involvement, but over the long month… two additional clues pan out to paint a gruesome picture. In addition to the blood of old people, the second clue involved what (at the time) seemed like “routine” diamond/jewelry thefts. The third clue came when an independent Ogre comes up to Conor, afraid for his life. A skinned, bullet-riddled body of another Ogre is found in a nearby park… the fourth… Conor gets Jaime involved.

Finally, the clues click into place… Ritual Magic.
