BioGrett malbo was just some 18 year old punk kid running around the streets of steel city, doing courier work for one of the many street gangs. He eventually got his chance to elevate his status as a member of the Steel Heads of 6th street, and only after two years, one of the top gangs at that time. Grett had to go and shake down a local shop owner for protection money with another hopeful Demton, a half elf of same age and stature. During the job the owner was being difficult, refusing to pay. Grett was reasoning with him giving him plenty of options, heated with the owner of the shop Demton pulled a dagger and stabbed him in the back and began to loot his pockets saying “we’ll take the money and sell his belongings of worth to a fence” Outraged Grett drew his dagger and grabbed Demton pinning him to the wall, the blade to his neck “YOU COWARD!!!” “HE WAS HARMLESS!!!”. A scream from outside, a woman looking through the window of the door saw Grett and Demton, and the shop owner at their feet dead. “GUARDS! GUARDS! MURDER!!!” Demton grabbed a paper weight off of the book shelf he was pinned against, slamming it into Gretts head knocking him down dazing him. Demton switched daggers and ran out the back ally way, Grett stumbled to his feet and tried to follow his assailant out the door, but the guards were already at the entrance and at the ally way in force. Grett was led away in manicles as he saw demton in the crowd throw his hood up and walk away with a smirk. Grett was charged with Murder a crime, to his knowledge, punishable only by death. But an investigator by the name of Aswilin , a human female age 35, interrogated him for his side of the story, Grett would not budge an inch of information for he would be a rat to the only family he knew his whole life. That being his decision, he was sentenced to the gallows at the age of twenty, in a weeks time he would be a dead man. Aswilin sent him to the prison to await his final days in a cell. Grett was thrown into his cell, immediately after the interrogation. He stood up in the barely lighted room, which was smaller causing him to hunch down. Following the walls his vision became clearer looking to all corners. “Well lookie what we have here” a small gnomish voice rang out from the far corner. “whos there!” Grett replied. “So your the big bad murderer from the 6th st. tin heads” “I expected someone… taller, and thats comin from a gnome mind you”. “Who the hell are you” grett said, “oh i’m just a fellow on me way out of here, my rents past due and they be wantin my neck in a noose” Grett scoweled at the darkened space in the corner “I’m not in the mood for some cocky bastard’s dialog before i die, just shut up and leave me be”. “Now that don’t sound like a murderer at all, in fact the way i hear it, it was done by some Demton fellow from your gang left you in the dirt to take the fall. Is that right?” Grett shocked by what he heard the little voice speak “how did you know that? i did not speak a word to that investigator, not one” “I do have me ways of getting information im not a complete basket case as they say i am” the shadowed figure walked closer to grett showing his face in the light. Gretts jaw dropped as he relized he was sharing a cell with a legend… “Harvey Dottlepocket” the gnome who can find the silver lining of any pocket.
“Well we don’t have all day come on im getting out of here and i require assistance of a person of your stature” As harvey pointed at the corner he appeared from earlyer. Suddenly a voice rang from the other side of the wooden cell door “Time for your grub maggot!”. Harvey runs to the door pulling a small mirror from his pocket, standing on the tip of his toes he held the mirror between the steel bars at the top of the door. “thats what i like to call bad timing. But since thiers only one cell in the basement and they moved your hanging to today I’m assuming the warden relly wants to clear his agenda” as he steps back from the door and turns Grett shocked once again “How do you” “No time Kid we gotta Go!” Harvey said in a whispered voice. Grett Scrambled to the corner, hearing the guards foot steps approach grett began to feel along both walls to the corner, he felt the walls texture switch from dampened rough brick surface to a canvas material. “Lift it!” Harvey says whispered, grett lifted the canvas, behind it a man sized hole leading into darkness. “Go on” harvey said, grett proceeded to crawl into the hole in the wallnothing but pitch black in front of him. harvey quickly grabbed the canvas and placed it back quickly just as it touched the ground the guard was turning the key to unlock the cell. “Crawl faster!” he said again, picking up the pace grett crawled following the tunnel until i widened out to where he could kneel up comfortably. Hearing the guard from the cell behind shout franticlly and tear up what little was in the room, harvey emerged squeezing past grett “ok follow me we don’t have alot of time till someone finds that canvas covering” says harvey “where does this tunnel lead?” grett asked. Harvey paused turned and looked at grett “hopefully a magical mysterious place of not being hanged”
