Akira began learning the art of healing at a young age. Her grandmother had been gifted with the sight and foretold of a great storm approaching. The prophecy revealed that few would be spared the storm’s wrath and that Akira must learn the healing arts to help those that managed to survive.

At the age of fifteen, Akira was abducted by slavers. A merchant learned of her skill as a healer and purchased her to tend the rest of his chattel. When the Great Contagion struck, most of the merchant’s caravan fell, leaving Akira to fend for herself.

Akira wandered from town to town, offering her healing services and expecting little in return. Turning down most payments, only accepting food, lodging, and healing supplies. She taught the villages how to care for their sick and lessened the effects of the supernatural illness wheeever she traveled. Eventually, she made her way to Player-City where her useful skills as a healer quickly made Akira’s popularity blossom.

Now a part of Hidden Ember’s retinue, Akira tries to help the people of the city. She makes a point to keep her distance from Markus since she is aware he once worked for the merchant who owned her. Though under Hidden Ember’s protection, Akira can’t help but look over her shoulder for fear that slavers will once again try to capture her.
