Grimdak Longbeard

Grimdak Longbeard is a powerful Paladin, devoted to the Dwarven deity Moradin

Grimdak Longbeard

Author: KingSlay

PC in: The Empire Road Campaign

Race: Dwarf

Level: 8

Game System: D&D 4E

Description

Grimdak is physically tough and strong, if a little clumsy. He is passionately committed to the ideals of Moradin and is proud of his Dwarven heritage and devotion to the Church. He loves little more than demonstrating the combat superiority of a well-prepared Paladin.

His favoured weapon is Deepcut, an Adamantine Greataxe forged by a master axesmith and engraved with his Family, Clan and Church emblems. The wounds from Deepcut can be fearsome indeed, particularly when wielded by an axe-specialist. Grimdak wears a suit of stout Dwarven Scale Mail; each and every scale is embossed with the holy Hammer of Moradin.

Even amongst his peers Grimdak is reckoned the swiftest into battle, his Charges leave his compatriots wondering at his sudden turn of speed.

Grimdak bears a rather gruesome dent in his skull, clearly the imprint of a warhammer blow. He regularly explains this as the result of a skirmish with a fearsome Ogre. He might believe this to be true. It may even be factually correct.

Bio

Grimdak is a member of the Deepdelver Clan. Some time ago, the Clan’s Chief Wizard – Ransak the Bronze – vanished without warning. Few clues were found beyond a torn note bearing indecipherable scratchings and the word ‘Karavakos’.

At the point of meeting the other party members in Fallcrest, Grimdak was searching for Ransak. The coincidence of the ‘Karavakos’ mentions, and the presence of fellow clanmember Griselda, was obviously a careful arrangement of the all-powerful Moradin.

Having now completed this quest, Grimdak is anxious to restore the great Wizard’s memory and restore him to the Deepdelvers.
